Study On The Ability Of Sustainable Development Of Nanjing Metropolitan

The construction of Nanjing Metropolitan is an important route to increase the competitive capacity and to accelerate the modernization of the cities. This paper analyses the actuality of Nanjing Metropolitan with the guiding of scientific development concept and the theory of modem eco-city. With the insight of Nanjing Metropolitan's configuration and spatial interaction, several suggestions of the development of Nanjing Metropolitan were raised. Several parts of this research were shown below:1. On the basis of spatial analysis, industry transformations and the development of metropolitan, it analyzed the correlation status of metropolitan development both in domestic and oversea. Also some academic research basic theories of metropolitan were introduced here: interborough theory , regional economic theory, regional cincture theory, sustainable development theory.2. It gave a general analysis of some ingredients of Nanjing Metropolitan such as actuality, spatial structure as well as the aspects of society, economy, culture, environment and the degree of development.3. Apply primary component analytical method to compare and analyze comprehensively the corresponding capacity of six sub-cities in Nanjing Metropolitan.4. The economic relationship among Nanjing Metropolitan and the gravitation radius from core city are analyzed based on the Regional Inter-action Theory, and the bases of regional development for policy-making are founded on temporal and spatial analysis on regional character.5. According to the principle of human-society-nature developing harmoniously and the achievability of the index, the evaluation index system of sustainable development was set up from the aspects of developing level, ability and the degree of harmony. And employing the method combined with AHP and Delphi, the weight of each index in the system would be fixed on. At last, apply the gray evaluating mode to establish the ability of sustainable development of Nanjing Metropolitan.6. The co-construction and the effectiveness of the infrastructure among Nanjing Metropolitan are analyzed by Stackelberg principal and subordinate Game theory Model.Nanjing Metropolitan is an actinoid region which Nanjing acts as the core, theMetropolitan coordinate, cooperate and develop as a whole with the radiations and the attractions among cities. However, the sustainable development is still on the low level. The un-balanced development of the region leads to inaccessible of the material, energy and information among metropolitan which impedes the sustainable development in this region. Based on the analysis, the subordinate cities will get more involved and Nanjing will get more benefit as Nanjing investment more on infrastructure.Also the development tendency, opportunities and challenges are showed through the SWOT matrix system which is used in management theory and the advices are rendered on the followed aspects as the operation mechanism, coordination mechanism, transportation system, industrial structure of the metropolitan and the construction of the Shanghai-Nanjing economic main body to make reference for decision-making sectors.
