In current and future periods, Chinese economic and social development can accomplish an important strategic opportunity, which is facing not only a rare historical opportunity, but also many predictable and unpredictable risks and challenges. International financial crisis has far-reaching impact, and world economic grows slowly, and there are significant changes for the structure of global demand, and competition is becoming more and more strongly around the market, resources, talent, technology, standards, and so on. Some global issues, including climate change, energy resources security, food security, become more prominently. And various forms of protectionism are rising. This situation makes it more complex for the external environment for China's development. According to the international financial crisis, the problem of economic development pattern is becoming more and more prominent. Apparently, the impact of the international financial crisis on Chinese economy is economic growth speed, but its essence is economic development pattern. Chinese economic and social development has made great achievements in recent years, but there are many outstanding problems of unbalanced, uncoordinated and unsustainable, which is mainly shown in strengthening the resource and environmental constraints, irrational industrial structure, weak ability of technological innovation, and so on. So transformating the economic development pattern has become essential after comprehensive judgments of international and domestic economic situation in China. Now, China is in the accelerated development period for urbanization and industrialization, land resources demand for economic and social development continues to rise, and it is an important task to be solved in the current land use how can not only meet the land demand for urbanization and industrialization, but also occupy less cultivated land to achieve sustainable and healthy development of social and economic. Intensive land use has become a significant measure to crack the dilemma of "guaranteeing development, protecting resources" and practice the scientific development concept. And it is of great strategic significance. The economic development pattern transformation requires change of resource use patterns, and land use will need intensive use according with good and rapid development of economic. All of these require that we should link economic development pattern transformation with land intensive use, and study on the effect of economic development pattern transformation on land intensive use.As a theoretical derivation of the premise and the logical starting point for interpretation, this paper analyzes the relationship between economic development pattern and land use manner firstly. At different stages of economic development, land use intensity will present a certain law with the transformation of economic development pattern, the increase of industrialization and urbanization, the evolution of industrial structure, and constant change of the relative prices of capital, land and other factors. This paper expoundes the relation between economic development and input factors, and analyzes the role of land in economic development and major function of land at different stages of economic development. Then, based on dipartition stages of economic development, the paper discusses the evolution of land use in the primary stage, the early stage and middle stage of industrialization in China, and measures countribution rate of land on economic development in different stages of economic development by using production function model, also summarizes land use law at different stages of economic development. It is that in the primary stage, due to capital shortage, the low level of technology, and lack of market growth, economic development is mainly through a large number of inputs of land, cheap labor, and other factors, and land resources are mainly allocated by non-market approach, and land use is shown extensively. When the ecnomic development enters into the early stages of industrialization, the economic number growth is main objective of economic development, although the capital shortages have eased, there still is shortage of funds which is a challenge many regions has to face, so many local governments have chosen low-premium investment strategy, and in the course of land resources allocation, there are both market way and non-market way, and the level of land use intensity has been increased, but in general it is still extensive. After entering into mid-industrialization, with the mitigation of capital shortage, land use has begun to shift from extensive use to intensive use, and the level of intensive land use is greatly higher than the previous two stages. When the ecnomic development enters into the later stages of industrialization, the capital is already quite abundant, but land resources has become increasingly scarce, governments and land users tend to substitute capital and technology of land, the land is used highly intensively. The paper also analyzes the conflict between the current land use and transformation of economic development pattern, which conclusion is that with the transformation of economic development, land use manner should shift from extensive use to intensive use.Influence factors analysis of land intensive use is foundation to analyze effect mechanism of economic development pattern transformation on land intensive use, and helps to explain the intension of land intensive use and to establish a reasonable mechanism for land intensive use. Therefore, this paper analyzes the influence factors of land intensive use, including driving factors and constraining factors. The result indicates that there are many facotrs benefit for land intensive use which includes increasing tense relationship between man and land, stringent protection of cultivated land, economic growth and rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, the implementation of scientific development concept, severe international competition, rising costs of land acquisition, preferential policy of land intensive use, etc. At the same time, there are some factors which play a positive influence, they are land use planning controls, land use knowledge and technology, system factors, financial capital, the game between the central government and local governments, land speculation and occupation much but use for land, etc. In the course of land intensive use, we should actively create favorable mechanism conditions to allow driving factors to play positive influence, while limit or eliminate the adverse effects of those constrainting factors on land intensive use.It is important hand grab and core content to promote economic development pattern tranformation that accelerating adjustment of industrial structure, which is an important way to reply the global financial crisis. Industrial structure reflects a national and regional basic trend and approach of economic growth. Industry development must ultimately be implemented in specific space, and in a sense that the spatial structure of industry means the land use structure. The limited land is basic carrier for survival and development of industries, and land resources are the constraints in space for industrial development. It is a core problem of regional land use that there is conflict between increasing land demand for industrial development and scarcity of land resources. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical value to study on affect mechanism of industrial structure adjustment on land intensive use of land. This paper analyzes the relationship between the industrial structure and land use stucture, the conclusion is that industrial restructuring is bound to put forward new demands for land resources allocation, and rational land use manner is to fit in different development phase of ndustrial structure. There is internal link between industrial structure evolution and the land use change, which is in different stages of economic development, different land use structure supports evolution of industrial structure, and continuous adjustment of land use structure provided the conditions and material basis for industrial structure adjustment. Due to industry evolution, the industrial structure will get continuous adjustment, optimization, upgrade, which causing land resources reallocation among different industrial sectors, resulting in changes in land use structure. Different industrial development has differnet requirements for location choice, and different industrial structure determines the different land use structure. So the evolution of industrial structure not only casues quantitative structure change, but also causes spatial layout change of land use. This paper analyzes effect of industrial structure on land intensive use from two aspects, the industrial agglomeration and industrial structure optimization, and does a case study of Kunshan county, the results show that industrial clustering promotes adjustment and optimization for various functions of land use structure and greatly improves the level of land intensive use. Factory's internal economies of scale, economies of scale within one industry and economies of scale within one region constitute the aggregate economic effects of industrial agglomeration, which are inherent economic drivers for regional;land intensive use. Industrial structure optimization has a positive impact on land intensive use from some aspects including land use intensity and input level, comprehensive efficiency of land use output, land use structure and layout, behavior and consciousness of land users, etc.Circular economy and low-carbon economy are economic growth modes which are consistent with the concept of sustainable development. They seize the crucial reason of Chinese shortage of resources but consuming excessively, and they have immediate practical significance to solve the bottleneck of resource on economic development, also they are necessary requirement for economic development pattern tranformation. This paper analyzes affect mechanism of the circular economy and low-carbon economy on land intensive use.At the part of the circular economy, the paper firstly does some theoretical analysis on concept and connotation, the basic principles and main features of the circular economy, then analyzes influence of the development of circular economy on land intensive use separately from the basic principles and main features of circular economy. At the part of low-carbon economy, based on analysis of the concept and meaning, features and development approach of low-carbon economy, the paper analyzes the influence of low-carbon economy on the land intensive use from the land use intensity and input level, the level of comprehensive efficiency of land use output, land use structure and layout, behavior and consciousness of land users, etc. Taking Kunshan economic and technical development zone as an empirical area, the paper analyzes the region's circular economic and low-carbon economic development as well as the level of its land intensive use, the result shows that the development of the zone's circular economy and low-carbon economy benefits its level of land intensive use.According to the above analysis, the paper finally gets some targeted policies, including that focus on leading industry, and improving the industy chain; to develop the new economy, improving economic fineness; through the establishment of stangards for the land to raise the threshold for the land, increase disposal of idle land in the efforts to increase the "three old" reform, strengthen the stoch of land tapping the potential to enhance post-approval tracking and management of land, improve the intensive use of land intensive use of incentive mechanisms to strengthen management and use of market mechanisems, imstitutional innovation and construction technology innovation imput and other coordination of land use and industrial policies to promote the intensive use of land.
