Study On Knowledge Integration Capability From The Perspective Of Social Capital Theory

With the rise of knowledge economy in the global context, knowledge is increasingly becoming a very important resource. The knowledge-based theory of enterprise suggests that an enterprise itself is an aggregation of knowledge, and the difference in the effectiveness of its various resources depends on its knowledge. The competitive advantage of the enterprise comes from the effective development and management of its knowledge. With the application of knowledge management to practice in the enterprise, it is increasingly recognized that the nature of enterprise knowledge management is knowledge integration and coordination and that the integrated knowledge rather than knowledge itself is the source of competitive advantage. Since critical knowledge is often embedded in the organization's daily routines, interpersonal net and process, computer information technology and traditional tools have become unable to effectively integrate and use these knowledge. So it has become a real problem facing enterprises to explore the mechanism of how different elements of social capital affect the knowledge integration capacity of the enterprise from the perspective of social capital theory, and to help enterprises to foster knowledge integration capability.Guided by social capital theory, knowledge management theory and statistics, this paper deeply and systematically studies the mechanism of how social capital affects knowledge integration capability through using literature analysis, questionnaires and statistical analysis.Firstly, this dissertation reviewed the literatures on knowledge integration and social capital theory, induced and collated the existing research results in order to provide the space for further research and lay a theoretical foundation for the follow-up study. Secondly, the concept and the formation mechanism of enterprise knowledge integration were analyzed. Based on the related research on capability-based theory of enterprise and knowledge-based theory of enterprise, the concept of enterprise knowledge integration capability were defined, the types and characteristics of enterprise knowledge integration were analyzed, a knowledge integration process model based on the knowledge activities of enterprises were proposed, and on this basis the constituent elements of enterprise knowledge integration capability were proposed. Thirdly, the conceptual model of the influence of social capital on enterprise knowledge integration capability were proposed, the concepts of all social capital and enterprise knowledge integration capability constructs were defined, and on this basis the theoretical assumptions were given. Finally, the questionnaire and tables were designed and developed. According to the inquisition data, the structural equation modeling method was used to analyze the theory model, and then the original model was revised on the basis of the analysis results. According to the revised model, the relationship between social capital, knowledge integration capability and enterprise performance were analyzed. The conclusion implies that the different elements of social capital have different influence on the elements of knowledge integration capability. At the same time, the corresponding proposals were given.
