With Chinese strategic plan of energy saving during the 12th Five-Year Program, reducing total energy consumption and improving terminal energy efficiency, has become the focus of energy field under the new situation. As the direct deal between power users and power producers is progressing, the new round of the power industry market reform has already started, and the end users'position and the market role will be re-positioned. Demand-side resources in the power system will play greater role stability due to Chinese large-scale renewable energy which was combined to the grid. Under the new energy and market environment, it is not only an issue which was to be studied and verified urgently, but also a starting point for this study, that is how to locate demand-side resources'safe and stable operation in power system, and the role and function on fair and efficiency in the power market, and how to make demand-side resources to play a greater overall benefit through a reasonable mechanism. In response to these problems, this paper focused on the concentrated market, has discussed the relevant issues on demand-side participate in the resources and market competition. The specific contents are as follows:First and foremost, this paper has done the meta-analysis about the relevant research and ideas at home and abroad, studied the relevant theory on demand-side participation in the competitive market. It proposed the defination and characteristics of demand-side participation, described its specific application in retail market and competitive market, analyzed the comprehensive benefits arising from the demand-side participation in the competitive market, and described the implementation from the view of power suppliers and end users.Secondly, from the view of users, it described the electricity users'optimal response of day-ahead price, analyzed the electricity user'power consumption response behavior who was facing the problem of the changed wholesale power price. It built a power users'optimal response model of day-ahead price through the user'profit maximization as the goal, use linear programming to achieve the solution of the model, designed and proposed four simulate scenarios, achieved the four simulate goals as followes, including the economic feasibility analysis and sensitivity analysis of day-ahead price response, the optimal production schedualing under two part tariff, the consumption pattern impact of peak palley price'timing appears.Thirdly, starting from the whole electricity market, it researched the market optimal equilibrium model based on the demand-side participation, analyzed the key factors which impacted the market balance and the main interests of the parties based on the electricity markets of demand-side participation. Maximizing social welfare as the goal, it put forward to the electricity market equilibrium model based on demand-side participation, including the pricing function of power generation side, the pricing function of demand-side, constraints, market clearing mechanism and so on. By simulated analysis, it verified the feasibility of the model, and analyzed the main factors and their effects which impacted market equilibrium results and the main interests of the parties.Fourthly, the demand-side resources as active and standby resources, it researched the energy/reserve balance optimization of the joint market based on the demand-side. Maximizing social welfare as the objective, it established the energy/reserve joint market equilibrium model based on the demand-side, to describe the demand-side in energy/alternative FBI alternate delivery systems market situation. Through simulate research, it respectively analyzed the market balance effects of the different types of demand-side pricing.This study has a certain significance, to form preliminary the future blueprint about the construction of Chinese electricity market, to accelerate Chinese power market reform, and to form fair and efficient electricity market.
