China Tobacco Efficiency Of Agricultural Production Research

In recent ten years, international tobacco market shows development trend of increasing demand, more concentrated market, branding and low cost competition. The domestic market also presents the situation of steady growth. But domestic tobacco agriculture, as the basis of tobacco industry is facing the problem of high production cost and low efficiency. Therefore, research work on the efficiency of tobacco agricultural, analyses on key factors on the efficiency of tobacco agricultural, as well as seeking ways for improving China tobacco agricultural production efficiency, putting minimum capital, labor, land etc production elements to meet tobacco demand, is according with the theory of sustainable development, which is well worth researching.Firstly, this paper conducted a systematic theory research. Theoretical research included relevant literatures review of previous studies, sorting out foundation theory and research methods. Literature review includes research work on total factor productivity (TFP) at home and abroad and the special literature on total factor productivity calculation method and production efficiency research work in agricultural field. In this part, there is no special literature review on tobacco agricultural, due to the rarity of research work in this field. In the part of basic theory introduction, some theory supporting the subsequent research work of this paper is introduced, which involves labor division theory, industrial organization theory, economy of scale theory, and technology change theory. The part of research methods introduction deals with Malmquist index method, a measure of TFP. Reviews on related literatures, the introduction on basic theory and research method points out clear way for the follow-up empirical study and countermeasure research in this paper, and provides strong theoretical and empirical research tools.Secondly, the paper conducted thorough empirical research, which is the core of this paper. Empirical studies in this paper can be divided into two parts logically:the China agricultural TFP calculation and analysis on key factors on efficiency of tobacco agricultural production factors.In the part of TFP calculation and analysis of China tobacco agricultural, a set of complete panel data of tobacco agricultural was collected, and the TFP tobacco agricultural was calculated by method of Malmquist index. And in the end of.this part, some analysis works were carried out on the development trend of tobacco agriculture TFP change, TFP comparison, etc.In the part of tobacco agricultural production efficiency factor analysis, only three factors was chosen due to limited space, research ability and data factors, which are the economies of scale, technology change and organization system. In the research of scale economy, by scale economy theory and method of the panel data, effect of scale economies in China tobacco agriculture was tested, and further intrinsic mechanism was analyzed also. In the research of technological changes, guided by induced technical innovation theory and research methods in our country, tobacco agricultural technology progress and some advanced research method, two type of technology progress, biochemical technology progress and mechanical technology progress, and their influence on tobacco agriculture production efficiency were studied comparatively. And the main agricultural technology progress type was discovered, and the main type to develop in the future was also suggested. The part of organization system research was not formal empirical research in comparison with the former two parts, due to data collection. But, the influence of labor division, organization system on production efficiency may be larger. This part includes tobacco monopoly system, tobacco taxation system, local government behavior, and tobacco farmer cooperation organizations.Finally, the paper studies into the countermeasures. Under the guidance of agricultural development theory and agriculture development policy in China, in order to improve the efficiency of tobacco agricultural production efficiency, following the former theoretical and empirical research, this paper summarizes the main problem in tobacco agriculture efficiency, puts forward major tasks and measures in improving tobacco agriculture production efficiency in China.
