The distrete signals with good correlation property are widely used in communication systems. The research of punctured sequence pairs and punctured array pairs is a new hot topic in the area of perfect signals, and they possess wide engineering application foreground. This dissertation is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the main purpose is to research on the properties and apllications of different kinds of punctured sequence pairs and array pairs.Based on the in-depth research of perfect binary sequence pairs, binary sequence pairs with two-level autocorrelation, perfect binary array pairs, binary array pairs with two-level autocorrelation, punctured zero correlation zone (ZCZ)/low correlation zone (LCZ) sequence set and pseudo-random Hadamard matrices, the following innovative results are achieved::Punctured binary sequence pairs with two-level autocorrelation, punctured binary array pairs with two-level autocorrelation and the first kind of perfect punctured binary sequence pairs are proposed in this dissertation. These new distrete signals with good correlation property enrich the theories of punctured sequence pairs and punctured array pairs.We make an intensive study of the transform properties, some existing necessary conditions and Fourier spectrum characters of punctured binary sequence pairs with two-level autocorrelation. By making use of these spectrum characters and conditions, the efficiency of searching the sequence pairs can be improved significantly. Then the efficient computational algorithms are compiled to find out a set of punctured binary sequence pairs with two-level autocorrelation, whose length are less than 23. As these sequence pairs have good periodic correlated properties, they provide more alternatives to engineering applications.The properties, Fourier spectrum characters and combinatorial admissibility conditions of punctured binary array pairs with two-level autocorrelation are illustrated and proved. Then the efficient computational algorithms are compiled to find out a set of two-dimensional punctured binary array pairs with two-level autocorrelation.The uniqueness of punctured binary array pairs with two-level autocorrelation and punctured LCZ sequence pairs are proposed and proved. In particular, perfect punctured binary sequence pairs, pseudorandom punctured binary sequence pairs, almost perfect punctured binary sequence pairs, and punctured ZCZ sequence pairs are proved as the specific cases. As a result, the unique receiving is guaranteed theoretically when they are applied in engineering.Based on the research of m sequence, pseudo-random Hadamard matrices and perfect binary sequence pairs, the first kind of perfect punctured binary sequence pair is proposed. The construction relationship between the first kind of perfect punctured binary sequence pairs and pseudo-random Hadamard matrices is proved. The transform properties of them are illustrated. As a complement to the theory of punctured binary sequence pairs, the relationship between the first kind of perfect punctured binary sequence pairs and pseudorandom Hadamard matrices is established.With good auto-correlation property of perfect punctured binary sequence pairs (PPBSP), a PPBSP based time-domain channel estimation algorithm for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is proposed. Analysis of algorithm and simulation results show that compared with the traditional m-sequence method, an outstanding system performance with lower overhead and lower computational complexity is obtained with the proposed method in both CP-OFDM and ZP-OFDM systems.
