Photonics crystal (PhC) is the material in which the refractive index change periodically and the Phc have a band structure and location mode, this structure can control light.In this paper, we first design and fabricate Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL), however, this kind of laser mostly output is multimode. A lot of application need single mode. So we introduce photonic micro-cavity into VCSEL to anticipate to obtain single mode.We dig periodic air-hole on the VCSEL's DBR reflect mirror and the PhC lattice is hexagon. The photonic micro-cavity is fabricated by removed one or seven air-hole in the perfect PhC. We call these photonic micro-cavitys H1 cavity and H2 cavity.The theoretical simulation results obtained by plane wave expansion (PWE)We calculate the normalizable V and discuss the sigle mode output condition. Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to analyse micro-cavity Q-factor to obtain higher Q-factor micro-cavity.The PhC micro-cavity can achieve well photon confinement,so low threshold could be achieved.At last we employ photonic micro-cavity VCSEL theory model. It is anticipated to obtain single mode output and low threshold. This model is very important to future application.
