With the development of wireless mobile communication and Internet, many different type of multimedia traffic are proposed and generated in real system. But for different type of multimedia, different data rate and flexibility are required. So, the next wireless communication system, with limited wireless resource, should provide the ability to serve much more users in its coverage, much more capacity for single user, much more total system capacity, and the ability to serve all these users in different QoS requirement flexibly. For this, many ken enhanced technology will be introduced into the next wireless communication, and the network topology may be changed probably. Multiple-hop cellular networks could enhance in both these aspects. Multiple-hop cellular networks combine the advantages of both cellular networks and Ad Hoc networks and exclude their disadvantages, which makes that it will provide much enhancement on system capacity, total include user number in the network, average sending power of the mobile terminals, fairness of the terminals or the enhancement on the requirement of the cell edge terminals.Currently many researchers make their focus on the study based on layered multiple-hop, but they do not provide much study on the problem by layer except the delay. In this paper, delay, fairness and the cell relay capability in layered multiple-hop cellular networks are analyzed. The conclusion shows that averaged layer is not a good layering method. Then the fairness and the cell relay capability are studied to provide some hypo-ideal solutions, which will also provide enhanced system performance and also it could be utilized in reality very well. Some multiple-hop cellular networks utilize mobile terminals as relay, which is a main field for many researchers, and the most researches are on two-hop system. However the fairness and the cell relay capability are rarely analyzed, which will introduce the problem of networks in-stable and limitation of the system performance enhancement. In this study, these aspects are considered and simulated. Different simulations are done for the cell capacity in different topology considering enough relay should be provided. The study finally gives the capacity enhancement solution and their parameters configuration with the consideration on these two aspects. The study also provides the impact of multiple-hop on different interference, which will provide some basement for the relay selection. In addition, the study simulated the cell capacity with different fairness, which gives the gain of cell capacity in different parameter configuration in two-hop cellular networks.Fixed nodes act as relay in some other multiple-hop cellular networks, which is also a study field currently. When coordinated multiple-hop is more and more focused by researchers, this study introduces it into multiple-hop cellular networks. The problems in this system are analyzed, and the simulations are done to show the gain of this system on cell capacity, covered user number in one cell and averaged sending power of the mobile terminals. The conclusion is all these aspects are enhanced, also give the evidence to that the coordinated multiple-hop will be a good enhancement method. In next generation wireless communication system, many system requirements should be enhanced, especially the averaged spectrum efficiency and the cell edge spectrum efficiency. This study analyzed the theoretical values and the values in real system of these two aspects and then gave the reasons why the performance could be enhanced and why multiple-hop cellular networks could resolve the problems. Additional, it is analyzed that multiple-hop cellular networks will be very feasible and promising to satisfy some main requirements of next generation wireless communication system. In brief, the whole study in this paper show the evidence that multiple-hop cellular networks will resolve many problems in conventional wireless systems and will be promising in next generation wireless communication systems.
