Location of mobile terminals is the critical information in mobile Internet, and the services using location information will be one kind of special services in mobile Internet. In order to make the development of location-aware applications easier, shield the types and details of underlying location infrastructures, process and fuse the location information gathered from many mobile location systems further, and provide a set of uniform APIs to mobile applications, this paper proposes MLSSP (Mobile Location Service Supporting Platform). The main contributions of MLSSP include:1. Analysis and generalization of mobile location technologies and location systems. This paper gives a comprehensive analysis and generalization of location technologies and location systems.2. Uniform and abstract location information model. This paper designs location logical model and location information model, which abstract and express location systems and location information respectively. Location information model is the soul of this paper.3. The fusion of location information. MLSSP can collect and fuse location information from several location systems on basis of the uniform location information model, improving location accuracy and presion and enlarging the service scope.4. Access control of location information. Location information is a kind of sensitive data. MLSSP proposes a hierarchic access control scheme that has entrance and exit security policies and uses matrix-based and label-based access control model wholly.5. Location interplation and preduction. According to historical location information, MLSSP can improve the availability of location information and preduct objects'location.6. Location-based event service. MLSSP supports asynchronous event-driven location services. This paper proposes and designs a location-based event service that reduces the payload of events in subscription and distribution.7. Implementing a J2EE-based MLSSP prototype partially.
