Cdma Multi-user Fixed Wireless Terminal (mufwt) Technology

Wireless communication technology is developing rapidly. Recently, IS-95 protocol based on code division multiple access(CDMA) technique has been applied and demonstrates obvious advantages in digital cellular mobile communication system. At the same time, wireless local loop(WLL), as a novel technique, gets more and more attention from the communication world and will occupy important position in communication infrastructure in the future. It has become a highlight in the field of WLL to use the advanced CDMA technique.Based on the research work of others, a novel scheme of CDMA WLL — CDMA multiuser fixed wireless terminal(MUFWT) is perfected in the thesis. MUFWT completes multichannel processing with software on a parallel digital signal processor(DSP), so it can support multiusers. Because of the techniques of parallel processing and software radio, device cost is reduced and processing capability is improved.MUFWT signaling system is designed which is compatible with IS-95 protocol. The method is presented for the first time that combines signaling pseudo-processing with signaling standard processing to achieve the signaling cooperation between MUFWT and IS-95 base station, so MUFWT can be compatible with IS-95 mobile station in current digital cellular mobile communication system. The interface between MUFWT signaling system and private automatic branch exchange(PABX) is also designed, so the call processing of multiusers can be implemented.Based on the performance analyses of MUFWT forward channel demodulation algorithms, the conclusion can be drawn that the parallel algorithms of MUFWT may achieve linear speedup and even super-linear speedup by using the parallel DSP that has an appropriate architecture especially with convenient data paths, so that the processing capability of MUFWT can be greatly improved.
