Large-scale Information Network Design And Performance

This dissertation presents our outcomes of performance evaluation of the CAAC Computer Network (CAACCN) which has been operating since 1986 and National Sport Computer Network (NSCN) which will be built in the near future respectively. Base on researching crucial factors for computer network performance, such as the traffic control and the congestion, etc., choosing the mathematical tools for the performance evaluation of computer network, revealling the crux of the matter for both shared and switched Ethernet, author has done a lot of researching v/ork on measurement, simulation, and analytic modeling for both CAACCN and NSCN. As a result, we designed the NSCN. 1, A new idea of modeling and analysis is proposed for the largecomplex computer information system network. 2, A general way of performance evaluation is poposed for the largecomplex computer information system network. 3, A design method is proposed for the large complex computerinformation system network. 4, The scientific basis is provided for improving performance ofCAACCN. 5, The correct priciples of guidance of design are reached for NSCN,and it has been designed successfully.
