Computer Generated Force (CGF) is a military simulation technology, which can create and control simulated entities as cooperative force in distributed simulation battlefield. Through modeling human combat behavior, these simulated fighters can response with the events and status of environment independently, and achieve their roles and missions in combat. Multi-agent technique provides an effective method to CGF research. Due to the special application background of CGF, agent and organization in command-based multi-agent system (CMAS) are mission-centered behavior. This thesis focus on the mission characteristic of CMAS, uses psychology theory to guide the research, brings none standard mode logic to formally define the mental states of agent, analyzes the property and mutuality of mental states, and validates the theory by experiment and application. The decision-making behavior of agent is also discussed, and a framework model and method of decision-making are developed to meet military application.BDI(Belief-Desire-Intention) logic model is a classic theory on describing agent's mental states ,but intention-based reasoning and promises of agent in MAS apparently can not meet the requirement of CMAS, while mission can represent the sociality of agent more clearly. Thus a new mental state model BDM is presented, which uses mission to replace intention as kernel of mental state to discuss the behavior properties of agent. Via formalized description and analysis, mission is combined with other mode operators organically, and is used to express the hierarchy and compulsion of CMAS. Side-effect of logic implication is avoided by using mission-based reasoning.Capability and personality are all presentation of agent individual difference, as well important factors of reality. Capability is a precondition for agent achieves its goal.Based on BDM model, capability and personality are formalized, and the property of capability and the relationship within capability and mental states are discussed.
