This dissertation analyzes the technical issues of non-cooperation receiving in DS-CDMA system. To impair the impacts of near-far problem and shadow fading on non-cooperation receiving, the novel use of Cascade Distributed Antenna System (C-DAS) in DS-CDMA system is proposed. Parameter dependence and system performance improvement of C-DAS are reviewed. The performance of C-DAS is inferred from MIMO channel capacity ,outage probability and average bit error rate, which offers substantial advantages over conventional centralized antenna (CA).Firstly, a novel C-DAS which extends conventional DAS by employing multiple antennas at each node is proposed. Our approach adds local microscopic diversity in the antenna cluster along with macroscopic diversity between antenna clusters. Further, a distributed MIMO system combining the characteristics of MIMO channel and distributed antenna system is proposed. The MIMO channel capacity between distributed antenna (DA) system and CA system are compared. It is found that the DA systems could acquire equal coverage property in the cell, and achieve a better channel capacity than CA system.Secondly, the impacts of Gaussian error and Doppler spread on MRC diversity of C-DAS system are analyzed. MRC is a simple and effective combining scheme for adaptive antenna arrays to combat fading. However, it requires estimation of the spatial signature (i.e., the channel gain and phase at each antenna element) of the desired signal across the array. Assuming the channel estimation is obtained by N symbols' correlation using common pilot channel (CPICH) of WCDMA system, we proceed to develop a fully analytical assessment of the impacts of Gaussian error and Doppler spread on the MRC performance. The originality of the approach revolves around the derivation of the closed-form expression for outage probability and average bit error...
