The Complex Electro-Mechanical(CEM) products are type of discrete manufacture. It is very difficult in design and manufacture for most CEM, and it is the focus of competition in international manufacturing community. The goal of competition is to make the ratio of performance and price of products has the competitive and rational. The large and medium manufacturing enterprises in China are devoid of capability of new product design, the period of product research and development is long, and the design tools is lag. It is at a very disadvantage in international market competition. So the research and development of design automation and intelligent design system of CEM products is necessitous. This research is based on conceptual design and physical design and to develop a system level design automation system. The final goal of this research is to develop design automation system of CEM product that has independent copyright and to spread application in the types of discrete manufacturing enterprises.In this paper, several research, system analysis, and developed here as follows: 1. The design of complex product system is the process of computer aided or intelligent modeling, simulation, and assessment of product. The product model must contain multiple view of product information and any single view of model in design complex system has not given the complete information of product. The integrated model of complex product system is composed of hierarchical configuration view of manufacturable physical entity, system dynamic performance view and system functional view. The multi-level hierarchical configuration view of product entity is architecture of partial models. It describes the configuration of product system that are composed of physical manufacturing entity; The encapsulation methodology is used by dynamic performance view model. This view describes the dynamic performance of physical entity and as the model of simulation of system dynamic performance; The functional view expresses the relationship of sub-function of sub-system and describes the basic principle structure of physical entity that realizing its function.
