Electricity industry is the most important basic energy industry, and improve the management level with advanced technology is a good idea. GIS could help electricity produce and manage because of its powerful data organization and spatial analysis capabilities. Tranditional GIS originated in the cartographic field, whose main feature is to study the stratified display of geographic information, spatial relationship among point, line and surface, and separate storage of position and attribute. While the goal of electric power GIS is to improve the visualization of power grid, enhance the realtime supervision of equipment, integrate the business information, and its character is to build feature model, and generate the topology for power grid analysis and dynamic calculation, at the same time, reach the unified management and synchronized update of production, operation, maintenance and location. This dissertation analyzed the problems of power information working with tranditional GIS, reseached the key technologies and suggested the solution of electric power GIS. The main research work and achievements of this dissertation are summarized as flowers:①According to the characteristics of electric power GIS, requirements model of electric power GIS was raised. The model supported dynamic operation analysis and load flow calculation with the equipment model and topological relationship, and also provided rapid graphical response, realtime data refresh and advanced operation warning with efficient graphics engine and data transfer mechanism, finally achieved virtual3D system based on images with the mapping model of sphere and plane.②Based on the requirements model, data model and functioanl model of electric power GIS was proposed. The data model was called "four-dimension, four-division" based on the knowledge base in the conception and cube structure based on the overall object-oriented in the logic. The topological model based CIM and the load flow model retaining nonlinearity based on bus types expanded could meet the advanced application analysis of the power grid, while the model of dynamic display cache and geospatial service aggregation would significantly improve the efficiency of graphics rendering and the sharing and interoperability of spatial information.③Considering the model and application requirements of electric power GIS, the key technologies which refered to spatial index, WebGIS sharing and virtual3D based on images was suggested. For the spatial index, the dissertation put forward multi-scale cluster expanded R tree model and its generation and insertion algorithm; About the WebGIS sharing, dynamic display cache based on intelligent agent and geospatial service aggregtion based on OGC was studied; With regard to the theory of virtual3D based on images,it designed panoramic image generation algorithm,3D panoramic rendering algorithm, coordinate transformation algorithm and image clipping algorithm.④According to the key technologies of electric power GIS, the dissertation advised the solutions of electric power GIS, which contained architecture and functional structure of electric power GIS based on spatial data engine, architecture and service processes of WebGIS sharing platform, and also the architecture and work processes of virtual3D system based on images. The solution was open, realtime, steady and configurable.⑤According to the solutions of electric power GIS, the dissertation designed and implemented application examples to validate the model and key technologies. Transmission and transformation equipment visualization intelligent management platform based on electric power GIS validated the efficiency of the graphical engine; Emergency command and control platform based on electric power GIS validated the rationality of topological model and load flow model by fault analysis engine, computer-aided dispatch and field force automation based on mobile computing; Operation order ticket management system based on virtual3D station validated the availability of architecture and algorithm of virtual3D system based on images.
