There are two sources of the concerns come from Liberal Education in China. One is about the impact of General Education; the other one is about the arguments by the conservative political philosophy of Strauss School. But the innate characters in the two kind of Liberal Education are different. The former is based on the mass democracy and claim the universal civil rights of modern democracy, the latter affirms elite democracy and holds on that liberal education is only a privilege belongs to a small number of people. The reality is that Chinese universities always confuse the distinguishes of the two different Liberal Education affect with unequal political values, as a result, not only the understandings of semantic about Liberal Education are confusion, but also deceives the attribute of Liberal Education as a kind of political education.This article tries to avoid the untargeted history narrate and aims at the realistic problem of China, so it should come back to the origin of Liberal Education and carry up the process of the rheological and differentiation of Liberal Education which could promote education for a good life and a good social order. The factors of goal include eternal values, public space, common sense. But the contents and origins are miscellaneous and heterogeneous, including the nature orders of ancient western political philosophy, the concept of republican citizenship and community organizations with utilitarian nature recede. This article holds that liberal education can survive only in civil society and public space, and only return to the classical virtue can resistant the emptiness of modernity.This article tries to determine the nature of Liberal Education according to contrasting the education backgrounds and political conventions between west countries and China, drawing the outline about the actuality and problem in the universities in China, orienting the actual needs of the universities and democratic reforms in China. It comes down to the difficulties faced with General Education in our country, the synchronization relationship between democracy political and Liberal Education as Civic Education, and the approach about integrating of the rights of our citizens to participate in the legitimacy of the existing educational resources and political resources. In clarifying the basis of these issues, Liberal Education in our country only with reference to the feasibility study.As a topic and problem, Liberal Education is a question concerning the relations among education, citizenship, democracy political. In another way, political philosophy and education philosophy exactly care about the unity of these three areas. For the political philosophy of Liberal Education property, this article will employ methods like documentation analysis, history comparative, contradictions analysis in the perspective of political philosophy. The concept of "liberal education" will be changed to the independent entity to study, and this research will focus the sudden conversion of the concept of liberal education entities for the value guidelines in the meaning of political philosophy which impact the changing the connotation of liberal education.In order to getting the ideal anticipation of liberal education, it also should consider these facts, including the combined effects of the social network system combined with national, community and culture, the final analysis compared with liberal education in different times and different social environment. On the one hand, this is a research approach for realize the ideal ecological environment for liberal education, on the other way, it is also a way leading to the constraints of Liberal Education.Through the research, the main contribution lies in the following:Firstly, Liberal Education returns to the origin of classical liberal education after the constant evolution and differentiation. The core connotation of modern General Education in American is a continue to the Civic Education property for Liberal Education, but the conservative political philosophy efforts to restore the philosophy function of Liberal Education. As a combination of the two branches, Liberal Education with different function coexist in the premise of a clear positioning.Secondly, Liberal Education evolves in a main chain and decomposed for the change of relations between individuals and the state. It should be a necessity reflect because of the diverge by the understandings for social contract. According to the bidirectional research for Liberal Education and social contract, the contradiction of the original intention and consequence starts at the understanding of social contract, and the absent of public space is another reason.Thirdly, this article aims to a value point for a modern remodeling with Liberal Education. If students could get a domain Arts, other values also could be realized. So, Liberal Education could provide a reference with Civic Education. In this process, Liberal Education will get the feelings of belonging for individual citizens in soul and the spirit, and this is a social trust foundation.Finally, there could be two aspects for the embarrassment with the implementation of Liberal Education according to the comparative analysis in China. The main cause comes from the limit of the existed research for Liberal Education, and the resources of long time educational and conceptual tradition are also constraints for Liberal Education. Those factors consist of the educational background for teachers, the weakness of the community concept in educational system, the shortage of educational resources of smaller class, the absence of Civil Service Courses.
