The present research tries to conduct a study on handwriting and drawing control by motor analysis, explore the basic features of motor control on middle school students, the characteristics of its development and the differences among handwriting and drawing motors of students with various academic achievements, and establish handwriting and drawing discriminant system of middle school students of different academic achievements so as to differentiate their types. The main contents of the research are:â… . Academic background. Tracing the traditional psychological research of graphology, the present study illuminates the research and clinical application of modem handwriting and drawing motor. Furthermore, it makes a systematically analysis of the relation between handwriting and drawing motor and academic achievements, with regard to neural mechanic relativity of the motor and academic achievements, relativity of elaborate motor and the brain's cognitive progress, as well as relativity of personalities.â…¡. Experimental study. The study has invent a digital tablet (WACOM-2005-1), with which, the objects (the students from junior Grade Two and senior Grade Two, with academic achievements ranging from excellence, ordinariness, to slowness) in groups of 12 to 24 members respectively are observed. Eight experiments are designed and conducted in four aspects of natural handwriting and drawing motor, controlled motor, motor under different pressures and motor learning in order to seek the features of natural motor of left and right hands with visual and invisual participation, the features of controlled motor of pointing beeline and tracing motor, the features of motor in conditions of numeral cognitive pressure, Chinese characters cognitive pressure, emotional changes and noise existence, and the features of such motor acquirement.â…¢. Handwriting and drawing discriminant analysis. According to the above-mentioned experiments, the study select discriminable data which form discriminant function and make discriminant analysis on the objects (students from junior Grade Two and senior Grade Two, with academic achievements ranging from excellence, ordinariness, to failure) with ten members in each group, which leads to a discriminant system of middle school students with different academic achievements.â…£. Analysis and conclusion. With a serious experimental research and discriminant analysis as well as systematic analysis on the whole research, the present study comes to a conclusion as following:1. The features of middle school students' handwriting and drawing motor control are:a. Different contents lead to different features of motor.b. As for the right-handed object, the motor ability of the right hand excels that of the left hand.c. Invisual participation both accelerates handwriting and drawing speed and increases variability of handwriting and drawing pressure.d. Different pressures have diverse impact on handwriting and drawing motor. Cognitive pressure decelerates its speed and weakens its accuracy. Emotion has no influence on automatic movement, while the pleased emotion accelerates controlled handwriting and drawing speed. Noise weakens its accuracy.e. Short-time practice improves accuracy of handwriting and drawing motor.2. Middle school students' handwriting and drawing motor makes a feature of their ability of motor control which develops and maturates with their growth. The motor control ability is in progress at the age of junior middle school.3. The handwriting and drawing motor of the students of different academic achievements differs in such ways as:a. Slow students' motor control ability is inferior to that of the other students, which suggests some students have abnormal function of neural motor, including the unilateralization of brain function.b. The motor control ability of the excellent students from senior high school excels that of the other students.c. The harmonizing ability over double tasks of the excellent students exceeds that of the ordinary students. Such difference becomes more evident with complication of cognitive tasks. 4. Illustration of discriminant analysis.a. The individual differences are better proved in the features of the right-handed object's motor by his right hand.b. Functional limitation of neural motor can be discriminated with simple handwriting and drawing motor.c. The individual differences of performance ability can be reflected with complicated motor in specific situation. The present study is innovative in its research tools, objects, methods and productions, making reference to some Westem analytic techniques of handwriting and drawing motor. It inspires study on motor control system and widens the outlook of study on individual psychological diversities.
