A large-scaled Chinese Indigenization Campaign of New Education (CICNE) was raised in the 1920's and 1930's. Many education associations and personnel has joined this campaign and proposed many reform projects. Though it was compelled as a result of the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, it is a Education-reform milestone in the Chinese modern times history of education and has important reference value and practical significance to the Nowadays Education Reform. However, this campaign has not been investigated in education research field, especially in Education History Research Field. This thesis takes this campaign as the research object and stresses its concerned focus though reflecting the historical process of the CICNE.The full thesis is divided into four chapters: In the first chapter, this paper distinguishes the important concepts used in this thesis. The research significance, the research situation, the research approaches and the structures of this thesis are also introduced in this chapter.The overall scenarios of the CICNE are summarized in the second chapter. Aiming at the actual situation in China, many educationalists proposed many reform schemes and measurements with strong operability, and selected typical experimental areas and carried out a series of educational reform practice. Starting from the need of China's society, they all focused the education theory and practical exploration mainly on two aspects, such as rural education and national education. Because of the "Chinese body western using" which was the important thought of influencing China's educational development before the CICNE is produced, this paper names it as the "quasi-Chinese Indigenization of New Education", and specially discusses it in this chapterTaking two typical characters, ZHUANG-Zexuan and GU-Mei, as the cases, this thesis elaborates systematically the educationalists' theoretical contributions to the CICNE in the third chapter. The theoretical exploration was mainly concentrated on the following two aspects: First, how to make the foreignized new education to meet the China's actual conditions; Second, how to create the new education according to the need of China's social development. After fully investigating the China's actual conditions, the educationists thought that the rural education, the adult education and the national education be urgent in China. In addition, they have put forward their own reform suggestion to the reforming of school education and national characteristic. Taking a broad view of the theoretical exploration of the CICNE, this paper summarizes the characteristics: First, insisting on "the social standpoint"; Second, facing reality and paying attention to actual effect; Third, omni-directional. "How to Realize Chinese Indigenization of New Education", written by ZHUANG-Zexuan, has important status in the history of China's modern educational thoughts. He, who proposed "Chinese Indigenization of New Education" clearly for the first time and carried out theoretical discussion systematically, was the representative of those who undertook the theoretical research in the CICNE..
