On Political Integration

Political integration is not only a fundamental theory problem in politics, but also a significant reality problem in Chinese politics transforming at the present age. The thesis sets forth the modernity background of political integration, and the inherent correlation between political integration and the growing of modern state. And takes the United Kingdom, the mother state of constitutionalism as example, in the view of the transformation of legitimacy basis, the strengthen of political structure elasticity, and the expandability of political participation system, tries to discover the route and experience that modern politics develops. Then from the double visual angle of political philosophy history and polity history, explores the close correlation between the legitimacy and political integration, analyzes the integrating significance of conflicting, and discusses the integrating function of the three important basis system of democracy—parliament, political party and election, provides theory resources and critical lessons for Chinese political integration in transitional period. The thesis inspects the traditional Chinese political integration pattern and the intrinsic limitation from social organization way, bureaucrat politics, and imperial examination system. Points out that the top-down authority control is the traditional political integration's dominant character, and the valid predicament is the important origin which caused traditional China fall into the historical strange circle—disorder circulates. The thesis analyzes the representative pattern and challenge of Chinese society political integration before reforming from the angle organizing system and the ideological form, and then takes ideological accommodation, political participation of private business, and construction of community Party for the example, presents three important sides of the present Chinese political integration—legitimacy renovation, administration inclusive and rebuilding organization, and discovers significance and limitation of tactics changes in political integration on basis studying in concrete example. The epilogue of this thesis submits that the effective political integration cannot realize from infinite expansion of power, while the construction of modern state which value civil rights is the basic approach of rebuilding integration.
