Immigration Policies Of EU And New Immigrants From Chinese Mainland

Since China's Reform and Open-door Policy was set up in 1978, new immigrants of Chinese Mainland have been an important branch of international migration tides. Each EU country is an important destination for new immigrants from Chinese Mainland. The dissertation points out that it is necessary to connect with immigration policies of EU to study the new immigrants from Chinese Mainland in EU states. This is because immigration policies is the concentrative reflection of political, economic, social and cultural policies of each country. Immigration policies influence international migration in a great extent. They are the most important factors, which usually have effects on the international migration in contemporary era. No other factor can be more influential for the immigrants' directions and scales than immigration policies. By analyzing the immigration policies of EU and the immigrants from Chinese Mainland, this dissertation reveals that the development of them is a process which has interactive influence. And the dissertation tries to observe this developing process to know the immigrants from Chinese Mainland in EU states properly, especially the illegal immigrants. Firstly, the dissertation uses the theory of international migration as the research foundation, describes the developing tendency of international migration from a macroscopic view and brings the Chinese immigrants into the vision of international migration.
