China's Political Development, Economic Logic

Economic Reform Theory works not only as an impetus to the economic reform and economic development in our country, but also as a key element in the promotion and guidance to the political development on this land. Influences cast by ERT on political development largely present themselves in the form of political claim. This article is itself an effort in the search for economic logics for Chinese political development, making the political claims of ERT its objects of investigation. The leading role the ERT plays in China's economic reform and the unique trait of the political-economic combination of ex-reform China have co-caused the generation of political claim of the ERT. In this time of reform, the political claims of ERT are mostly displayed as pursuits for modern democratic politics that lays its base in a call for modern democratic politics from market economy. The set-up and development of market economy requires the growth and development of modern democratic politics as a must, and at the same time provides the growth of modern democratic politics with both economic and social foundation. It is the ERT's claims on modern democratic politics that have pushed and guided the process of China's political development and political modernization. Influences by ERT's political claims on China's political development are represented in three layers: affect the choice and decision of national construction plan; affect the changes in system structure during political development; and affect the transfers of right basis in political development. The choice of market economy by ERT has built the modern economic bases for the making of our country, has set up the national construction goal as heading for modern democratic country; and has decided the direction and aim for China's political development. The system renovation and system requirement made by ERT during the set-up of socialist market economy has promoted the transition in system structure in the political development of China, and has supplied the growth of modern democratic politics with bountiful system resource and system structure. What's more, the set-up and maintenance brought by ERT to modern property right has promoted the conversion of right bases in China's political development and has established proper right bases for modern democratic politics. Through claims mentioned in the above three layers, ERT has been promoting and guiding China's political development, and has been pursuing for modern market economy as well.
