In the world today,transnational corporations play a role as impulsion and accelerators in the economic globalization. The impact of such transnational corporations' investment upon the host countries and their regional economic development has increasingly been projecting. The essential features of transnational corporations' investment lie in the direct transnational investment,which is the interaction between the corporations and the host countries. To ;. gieat extent,such an investment from transnational corporations influences both the industrial and economic space structures of the host countries. By affecting the macro and micro regional economy,the transnational corporations' investment accelerates the regional economic development of the host countries. During the period of "Development of the West" in China,it is an important approach to introduce and utilize transnational corporations' investment for giant development of the West and narrowing the gap between the East and the West so as to realize the regional non-proportional economic development in line.Guided by Marxism and Deng Xiaoping's theory,this dissertation interprets the concepts of transnational corporations' investment and analyzes the economic achievement of the host countries by dealing with the theories concerning transnational corporations' investment and regional economic development. It also sums up the new features of such investment into China since the 1990s. Aimed atthe changing structures both in industry and space of the transnational corporations' investment into China,it probes into the ways as how to utilize the investment and regulate the industrial and space structures of our own. On this basis it puts forward the countermeasure for extending transnational corporations' investment after China entering WTO.
