Research About The Foreign Direct Investment Decision Of Transnational Corporations

Since the middle period of 1990s, transnational corporations, under the development trend of globalization , integration and informationization of international economy day by day, have got the development at full speed no matter in the quantity or on the scale of the foreign direct investment. This article, adopting the methods of theory analysis and real example analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, micro-analysis and macroscopic analysis, regarding the convenience of international investment environment, trans-corporation's own comparative advantages and host country's position advantages, etc., studies the decision of its foreign direct investment, and points out: Transnational corporation's foreign direct investment decision is the result that be affected by many kinds of factors together; The essence of transnational corporation's foreign direct investment decision is to select one or more optimum schemes in complicated international environment and numerous investment projects; The investment decision is related to the success or failure of investment; The scientific decision system is the precondition of making correct decision; Not unalterable after making investment decision, but should adjust and revise in time according to the actual conditions; Investment decision theories include the anticipated utility theory and the option theory of the practice at present; The focal point of the investment decision is rich and varied on the basis of difference of orientations of business strategy; The investment decision methods can be divided into financial decision method environmental decision method, random risk decision method and investment combination decision method, etc.; According to the attitude of policymaker, the investment decision methods can be divided into pessimistic decision method, optimistic decision method and neutrality decision method, etc.; Regarding as the evaluation of investment decision, the author thinks that the evaluation of trans-corporation's foreign direct investment decision mainly includes such contents as technological evaluation, management evaluation, economic evaluation and social evaluation, etc.; We should insist the combining principles of movable and motionless evaluation, short and long time evaluation, specific and wholeevaluation while appraising decision of investment; Scientific evaluation criterions strong operation evaluation index and rational appraisal procedure are the key to appraise the investing decision; Finally, the article combines the research conclusions of trans-corporation's foreign direct investment decision, from three respects of decision structure, decision content and decision tactics, puts forward corresponding countermeasure and suggestion on how to participate in the international division for transnational enterprises of our country.The full text is divided into seven chapters: Chapter one, as the introduction part, analyses the meaning and characteristics of the transnational corporations, carries on research to the meaning and classification of trans-corporation's foreign direct investment, and studies the purpose and meaning of analyzing the foreign direct investment decision. Chapter two to chapter six are the core of this text, gives the key research of such contents as investment decision theories, the factors that affect the making of foreign direct investment decision, the contents and methods of investment decision, the principle and process of making investment decision, and the evaluation of investment decision etc. Chapter seven, as the part of conclusion and propose of this article, provides the research conclusions and some innovation points of trans-corporation's foreign direct investment decision and studies the position in this discipline of this text firstly, then puts forward some relevant policy and recommendations on the transnational direct investment of enterprises of our country.
