Impact Of Contemporary Public Art Study Of The Environmental Factors

This paper, from the system theory of public art and environmental factor's perspective, analyzed the following issues:The inappropriate orientation of expression and concept of public art in modern cities; the inconsistency between the exterior form of public art and its interior connotation; the incompatibility between environmental factors and public art. It is suggested that the concept of Chinese contemporary public art is an art form placed in the open public environment; It aims to communicate with the general public, and then to be recognized and accepted by them; It is also an urban visual plastic art which is long-term sustainable and has its view of the natural ecology, social functions and cultural values. Public art not only beautifies the environment, but also solves social issues concerning multiple environmental factors. Public art is complementary to the city's natural, artificial and cultural environments and has profound implications for the future re-orientation and development of Chinese contemporary public art.The paper defined the concept of public art from the environmental factor's view and discussed the relation between environmental factors and public art in chapter 1. Chapter 2 studied the impact of natural features on public art creation and stressed the importance of natural factors to the public art. Chapter 3 analyzed the elements of artificial environment and fully investigated the constraints of artificial environmental factors on public art creation. Chapter 4 studied the relation between cultural environment and public art from the perspective of cultural values, and emphasized the significance and value of the public art in the construction of socio-cultural values. The core significance of public art is that it is a cultural practice which interacts with the general public via public communication.Through the study above, the paper suggests that the contemporary public art must take environmental factors in a board sense as an important value orientation. Meanwhile, public artists must realize that public art has its social responsibility in the construction of the modern civil society. Therefore, the public art creation must interact with the general public and win recognition from them. Public artists should also put more emphasis on the orientation of public aesthetic and interact with the public to create a harmonious public environment. Only in this way may it effectively improve the constructive effect of the public art in the society.
