| Chinese-originated Korean words cover more than 50% of Korean vocabulary. The Chinese-originated Korean adjective is a very important component of Korean adjectives., though covers only 3-6% of Korean vocabulary. Therefore, it's very significant to do research into the Chinese-originated Korean adjective from different aspects and perspectives.Taking the Chinese-originated Korean adjective as object of study, taking descriptive linguistics theory and contrastive linguistics theory as the instruction. combining qualitative study with quantitative study, on the basis of researches into morphological features and components and word formation of Chinese-originated Korean adjectives, this paper describes and compares morphological and semantic features.On the basis of the analysis of the lexicalization of Chinese-originated Korean adjectives, the paper compares and explains the lexicalization of Chinese and Korean languages.This paper falls into six parts.First, it defines Chinese-originated Korean adjectives and declares Chinese-originated Korean adjectives with suffix "hada" as its subject. Etymology of Chinese-originated Korean adjectives is explored on the basis of describing the structure of roots and syllables, the types and features of roots and components of words.Secondly, it analyzes morphological features of Chinese-originated Korean adjectives, stating that all the Chinese-originated Korean adjectives are derivatives by means of additional word formation. Compounding includes coordinating, modifying, subject-verb, verb-object and complement. Overlapping is either Korean-originated or Chinese-originated. There are also some Chinese-originated Korean adjectives derived from Korean onomatopoeia and suffix.Chinese-originated Korean adjectives, describing both quality and state, are one-to-one, one-to-two or one-to-many correspondent in Chinese.Last, it compares the meanings of homographs in Chinese-originated Korean adjectives and Chinese words of the same form with the same meaning, the same form with different meaning as well as the same form with partly same meaning. |
