Study Of Contemporary Chinese Urban Christian

This dissertation is a detail description of the Protestant Christians in Shijiazhuang HeBei province. It is based on the author's nearly two years fieldwork, from the view of social scientific study of religion, take part in observing, talking and survey. The author want to reveal how Christian grow up in China inner city and how the Christians realize their religion in real life. How protestant intercourse with society and give religious product at same time. And how our contemporary ZHONGGUA people make new Culture.To answer these questions, the author took part in many meetings and talked with many Christians, and made 190 surveys in young meeting of Shijiazhuang Church before 2007 Spring Festival. At first, the author seek the documents of the history of Shijiazhuang and the origin of the Protestant history in this city. Then shows the reader the organization and institution of Shijiazhuang church.On this base the paper shows how people became Christians. After talking about their many meetings, the author discuss the culture and identity of the Christians. In the end the paper shows some idea of how Christianity the world religion develop in east cultureBy the description, the author comes to the conclusion that Christian gains a group of people because its value: love, grace and forgive. And it shines light on our process of building harmony society. Although Protestant group is a little group in society, it has give out light in our society.
