A Study On Wangmang's Ideal Politics

Wangmang's ideal politics was not only a political pattern but also a social practice.As a political pattern, it absorbed basic contens of Confuciantists's ideal politics before Qin. As a political pattern,it also carried out theory seeking for solving social practical problems of Xihan last years.As a social practice, it was not only thoroughly defeated,but also Wangang was killed in it.Its failure proved that Confuciantists's Wangdao politics pattern didn's adapted to social reality. Not any one transformed realistic society since Wangmang by Confuciantists's classics. Confuciantists's classics was serviceable in enhancing will of people in large way.This doctoral thesis contained nine sections.Introduction.This section one investigated three problems: No. 1: reasons and meanings of reseaching this subject; No 2 : literature introduction and looking back of learning history on Wangmang's problems; No.3:trains of though and means in researching this subject.Chapter1 Orgin of Wangmang's ideal politics. This section one investigated two big problems:firstly,explaining some important concepts,such as ideal politics.This was prerequisite and foundation of reseaching this subject.sceondly,seeking causes of resulting in Wangmang's ideal politics. Wangmang's ideal politics was absorbed in Confuciantists's ideal politics before Qin. Wangmang though that Sandai politics was really ideal state of things, really political pattern. Confuciantists's liujing(六经) were textbooks and theorical foundation of leading to ideal politics. Wangmang's ideal politics was also inevitable products of Xihan movement of Confucianism in last years, was continuing and assembling Hanru's ideal politics.Lastly, I depicted frame of Wangmang's ideal politics.Chapter2 Wangmang replacing Han Dynasty. This section one deeply investigated Wangmang replacing Han Dynasty.traditional history didn't pay close attention to this proble, making it verdicting usurping event not analyzing,so as to seriously influencing on studing Wangmang's problems and not making people objective impartial appraisal to Wangmang and his reform. Wangmang replacing Han Dynasty successtully,was inevitable result of Han Dynasty's political economical situation developing in last year. It both displayed Wangmang's outstanding political talent and was prerequisite which Wangmang carried out his ideal politics in over China.It is to known all that without absolute authority couldn't carry out his reform in over China. The view what traditional history thought Wang Mang usurping Han Dynasty,was superficial and didn't accord with Marsisthis history.Chapter3 Wangmang's reform in rule by rites. Wangmang's reform in lizhi was fundamental way that Wang Mang carried out his ideal politics,so it was important and key point in this doctoral thesis. Wang Mang was not satisfied with Han Dynasty's rule by rites.He always abided by patriarchal and Lizhi,upholded them strively before usurping Han Dynasty.Since Wangmng established New Dynasty,he had been reformed in lizhi big extentively,so as to carry out Sandai(三代)golden age.In Dynasty's last year, reforming in lizhi big extentively inevitablely made more emphatic in finance, intensified social contradictions.Its outcome was matter of course.Chapter4 Wang Mang's thoughts of restraining luxury and corruption.Wang Mang's thoughts of restraining luxury and corruption were from profound historical source and foundation of theory, at the same time objectively reflected XiHan Dynasty's reality questions. With deducing and explaining anew the concerned historical materials, we found that Wang Mang's thouhgt of restraining luxury and corruption had abundant contents: practicing strict economy,setting a good example by his conduct; punishing severely luxury and behaviors of not abiding by laws so as to clear up official deeds; setting up models,changing established habits and social customs; arising salary to hold back corruption; carrying out the policy of gold owed nation; imposing money by slave and so on. These actions had positive role on holding back XiHan Dynasty's abusing politics and yielded great influence to latter ages too.Chapter5 Wang Mang's Minben Thouhgts were objectively reflected Xi Han Dynasty's reality questions. With deducing and explaining anew the concerned historical materials, we found main contents of Wang Mang's Min Ben thoughts.WangMang's speech and main measures embodied his Min Ben ThoughtsAverage thought producing before Qin,was important political and economical thoughts in ancient China.This thought seeped into every fields in politics,economics,society,ethics and so on, gave rise to far-reaching impact afterwards. Wang Mang's average thought both inherited average thought before Qin,and was inevitable products of social contradictions in XiHan Dynasty's last year.Chapter6 The ultimately result of the Confuciantists's ideal politics made over China unity by individual morality excellent. Wangmang also walked this way self-training,readying family,governing country ,unifying the whole world. The ultimately result of Wangmang's ideal politics was even average economics,united country euentually.Chapter7 This section one mainly investigated causes that Wangmang's ideal politics was dashed from Wangmang's individuality and changing ruling pattem.Qin Dynasty's pattern ,being the rule of law ,came into being after Shangyang Reformation.This kind of pattern played a immerse role in unifying ,but this pattern made Qin Dynasty die rapidly on account of no changing ruling way. Wangmang "New pattern", with Confucianists aspiration of Wan-Dao ,perished rapidly too because of non-space of old ruling one.
