The "folk hero narration" is a special concept, based on the general rule of folk culture conformation, that refers to the narrating style with folk tradition in literature inditement. It is different from the saying on hero narration under the mainstream ideology in 1950s and 1960s. Whereas it is difficult to separate the two styles totally, namely, the hero narrating text from 1949 to 1985 was a result of the mixing of the two styles. This dissertation has four chapters. Firstly, theoretically define the basic structure of the folk hero narration. Secondly, study the relationship between the folk hero narration and the literature of the present age. Thirdly, the modes of folk hero narration. Finally, the folk hero narration and the saying-singing art.The first chapter is to define the basic structure of the folk hero narration. In my opinion, the Chinese ancient novels emerged lately, but there were buds and headwater of the folk hero narration within legends and myths. And the ancient novels are main body of the folk hero narration naturally. It has four characters: the figure of hero group and the tragedy finale of hero are the internal aesthetics characters, having good polt and romance are its form characters. Minority epics are also the important sources of the folk hero narration. The traditions of the western literature and learning coming into China after the May-forth Movement made the hero concept and hero narration concept of the new literature chang largely. The individualism hero concept of the western literature joined in the folk hero narration, which was more distinct after the Cultural Revolution. So the dissertation includes four parts of ancient myths, ancient novels, minority epics and the western hero tradition. The second chapter is to discuss the evolvement of the tradition of the folk hero narration in history of literature in the contemporary era. It divided the history of literature in the contemporary era into four periods: from the May-forth Movement to the Anti-JapaneseWar; from the Anti-Japanese War to the year of 1949; from 1950s to 1970s; from 1985 to the end of the twenty century. The characters of the four periods are: the classic tradition of the folk hero narration was ignored and excluded in the age of the May-forth Movement and was simply used by the need of practice after the Anti-Japanese War broke out; after 1949, the folk hero narration had combined with the hero narration of the mainstream ideology and formed the Contemporary novels of hero narration. Since the novel The Red sorghum published in 1985, the folk hero narration admitted the tradition of new literature and became a conscious narrative style. The third chapter is how the authors inherited and developed and rebuilt the tradition of folk hero narration based on different historical background. This kind of hero narration are traced from various sides. By using the method of antitype analysis, this dissertation discusses the modes of hero narration and every mode has several plot cells. Upon the changing from plot cells to modes, it finds out the function and influence of the outer elements of that age on the folk hero narration. The forth chapter is to emphasize the function and influence of saying-singing art on literature writing. Using text analysis method, it chooses two representative works of different ages to analyse. The last two chapters demonstrate the relationship between the literature inditement and folk hero narration from the positivism view.
