The Research Of Chinese Marriage Stories Between Creatures Of Different Species From 18 To 20 Century By Using The Method Of Narratology

This article induces the motives and types of Chinese marriage stories between creatures of different species from 18 to 20 century by using the method of Narratology, describes the condition and characteristic of their narrative essential factor, meanwhile, it also analyses these stories' narrative sequence and meaning, studies their in-depth structure by combining narrative pattern, tradition and cultural knowledge, Finally it compares writers narration and folk narration by using above achievement to analyze the similarities and differences between two narrative ways. This dissertation includes four chapters with preface at the beginning and appendix at the end.Introduction sketches out the history of marriage stories between creatures of different species, and states the significance of this subject, the goals and methodology, and the material resources of this study. At the end of it, a terminological definition and a restriction are given to several related concepts.Chapter one determines 14 commonly used motives and four predominant types of Chinese Marriage stories between creatures of different species, and induces the theme of each type, elaborates double meaning of the motif and the theme to the narrative type division and to the text type classification.Chapter two discusses the narrative factor of Chinese Marriage stories between creatures of different species. It probes to the different performance shape and characteristic of roles and its function of marriage stories between creatures of different species in each type, analyzes the narrative skill of the role's naming rule and the image mold; the narrative time skill and time cultural consciousness are considered as the narrative factor; Spatial type and spatial functional analysis are also included in narrative situation factor.Chapter three is the analysis of narrative structure of Chinese Marriage stories between creatures of different species. It examines the narrative structure which includes the narrative sequence and cultural meaning of three narrative stages from the stories' beginning to result, each stage has its own sex culture, the traditional cultural knowledge and narrator' individuality.Chapter four compares the writer narrative with the folk narrative based on case studies. This chapter studies the similar texts which belongs to three story types in folk story and writer story, verifying the feasibility which the same research technique can be used in the different narrative areas by examples.Conclusion is a brief summary, it summarizes the research work and theory achievement of each chapter, and points out the insufficiency of this research.
