Generally speaking, the history of human education declares publicly a basic cultural truth that is whether civic culture education or public education system both emphasizes the special status of "poetry instruction" which is regarded as a best way of practicing language of their own nation. Earlier modern poetry and Chinese education have a tight relationship with modernity occurring in 20 century. On one hand, modern poetry provides new selections for modern Chinese teaching materials and appears in a newly visage that is different from ancient poetry, so that it changes the students' reading habits and poetry concept step by step. On the other hand, Chinese education provides system guarantee for modern poetry, modern poetry is classified by modern educating methods, such as students' reading, teachers' explaining and examination, and gradually becomes collective memory of several generations. Modern poetry has already been representative of Chinese poetry of 20 century. In order to establish its status, we must bring up one reading group who can receive and enjoy this newly writing modal.The introduction enacts the topic and shows the innovations of this thesis and limits some notions.Chapter 1 mainly discusses historical transform which includes the end of poetry instruction and the beginning of modern poetry put in the materials. In the late of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of Republic of China, the reform of Chinese education changed people's traditional conception about poetry. Since modern poetry put in materials, education participated in its developing links and communicating process and impacted each other in reading and receiving. As a result, they became subconscious and turned into a reading expectation by figuring people's concept and in turn it can influence poetry education.Chapter 2 mainly discusses poetry selection in Chinese materials after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The basic reason of modern poetry and Chinese education having a tight relationship is that both participate in constructing mainstream ideology effectively.Chapter 3 proceeds with the reading and writing of poetry education and discusses the poetry explaining system of Chinese education, such as short passages of poetry knowledge, exercises designing and reviewing the reading and writing of poetry. The limits of ideas result in the loss of Chinese education's cognition to the style of modern poetry.Chapter 4 mainly discusses the direction of subject of modern poetry education. Poetry outspreads three-dimensionally under education. This chapter mainly discusses the types of special readers: teachers and students; how to reconstruct a effective thought of reading and writing poetry and make "poetry instruction" become possible.chapter 5 discusses Chinese education's effect on forming classic modern poetry.
