The paper studys on the recognition of shapes, graphic representation, construct straight lines and spatial orientation, find that the development of 3-5 year-old children's concept of space has the following features and rules: the development of the concept of space shows topological primacy;topology, projective and euclidean geometry concepts are in the process of progressive development; bio-maturity factors play an important role in the development of children's spatial concept;the child's spatial concept development has the certain egocentric nature ;the age of 4-5 years old is a critical period for the development of the children's concept of space; there is a close relationship between the development of children's concept of space and the development of thinking.Basing on the above analysis of the characteristics, we put forward the following proposal for preschool education in mathematics and the development of the concept of space:geometric teaching should combine closely with the child's life; guiding the children concerned about various topology; create situations for children, provide the activity of operation; give children a sense of the different variants showing all sorts of shapes; encourage children to imagine, forecast, explore the relationship between geometric objects; experience meet with zone of proximal development of the child; children's awareness and understanding of the graphics is not the same situation. In short we find that children are in accordance with their "outline" of the study. We should continue to explore the child's own "outline", and transform the "outline" of teacher's into children's. Education always accord with "zone of proximal development" of child. Finally, the paper further expounds on the major conclusions and view points,at the same time a few inadequacies are also found out.The future direction and hopeful blueprint of the coming studies are prospected expectedly.
