A Research On The Collocation Of The Relation Markers Of Chinese Compound Sentences And Some Relevant Explanation

Based on the Theory of Clausal Pivot and the Collocation Theory, the use and distribution of the relation markers of compound sentences are studied in this paper. Meanwhile, the collocation of the relation markers and its rules, the pattern of the collocation and its meaning are investigated and explained.Six chapters are included in this paper.In chapter one, the application of the Theory of Clausal Pivot in Chinese information processing is discussed, and the construction of the corpus of Chinese compound sentences is introduced. The Theory of Clausal Pivot is valuable in the segmenting and labeling of words, the discerning and labeling of phrases, the eliminating of ambiguity, and the describing of the complex features of grammatical units. The Corpus of Chinese Compound Sentences is a special corpus, which is a research platform for the study of Chinese compound sentences, and it is a very important database of this paper.In chapter two, the system of the Collocation Theory and the important development stages of collocation research are introduced at first. Then the present state of collocation research and major achievements at home are introduced and assessed. The focus of this chapter is the discussion of the significance, content, methods of collocation research on the relation markers of Chinese compound sentences.In chapter three, a detailed classification of the relation markers is made, and the rate of occurrence and distribution of the markers are investigated. The collocation strength of relation markers and the "semantic prosody" of relation markers collocation are two important issues in this chapter.In chapter four, the semantic category and logic relation of the hierarchy of addition-clauses are analyzed, and the position-exchange of the clauses is discussed. At the same time, the distribution of the marker of addition is investigated. Based on the analysis of the semantic category and model of relation, the position-exchange of the related clauses in an addition-clause is discussed.In chapter five, a diachronic and synchronic study on conjunction "jieguo (结果)(so)" is made.
