Lu Xun And Naturalistic

Everyone has his cultural background, which deeply influents his following life. Lu Xun is not only a freethinker, but also an excellent letter. In my opinion, that we study Lu Xun in naturalism terms is a new try. Lu Xun's independent and rebellious personality mainly results from Chinese traditional naturalism.By studying the relationship between Lu Xun's cultural background(For example, the influence from his family, his teacher Zhang Taiyan, Wuyue culture, and so on.), we can explain why he is quite different from other scholars in his times, especially including his attitude towards Chinese traditional culture or western culture, enlightenment, philosophy, and literary works.This paper consists of six chapters. The first chapter defines two conceptions: Chinese naturalism and western naturalism. The second chapter mainly introduces the history of traditional naturalism in Wuyue. The third chapter dissertates Lu Xun's thought of naturalism. Separately from cultural, enlightenmental and writing lights, the last three chapters discuss the deep effect of naturalism on Lu Xun.
