In the WWII in Asia, because of its special geographical position, military and political position and economic condition, Shan-Xi province has become the strategic center of China, the strategic footing of CCP in the North of China and the main field of enemy's rear area that the Japanese aggressors tried to plunder. The headquarters of The Eighth Route Army and the North Bureau of CCP that lead the fighting in the North China is just in Shan-Xi which has become the original place of Anti-Japan war base area and bushfighting rear area, the success paradigm of Anti-Japan national united front, and the support and jumping-off place of overall fighting of CCP. In the whole process of fighting, many of the important historical events that has greatly changed the situation took place in Shan-Xi. The study of war in Shan-Xi makes a contribution to understand the course of development and strengthening of CCP and its army, to understand the reason why Kuomintang failed immediately after the winning of Anti-Japan war. With the application of the theory of Oral-history, this paper mainly deals with the following problems.Firstly, this paper examines the formation and development of the theory of Oral-history. Oral-history which is the most antiquated form of historiography originates from the folk stories and oral legends in the remote antiquity. As a historic method, Oral-history has long existed and oral historical data has long been used by historians. Modern Oral-history that carries the significance of data and method, however, starts in the America in 20th century. The development of Oral-history is closely related with the track of historiography evolvement. Greatly influenced by the general historiography turn, the emergence of Oral-history adapts to the tide of democracy of historiography. Narration is most remarkable characteristic of Oral-history among the characteristics of objectivity, subjectivity, interaction and socialization. As a new study method, Oral-history has been widely used in the study of modern history in the world. Been the kernel and the key step of Oral-history, measures of operation are directly related with the paradigm and the depth of Oral-history. Modern science and technology provides convenient conditions and exploit new area for the development of Oral-history. In the evaluation of Oral-history data, varies influencing factors should be considered in order to discover new problems.Secondly, taking the example of Oral-history of Anti-Japan War in Shan-Xi, this paper discusses the operation of Oral-history. The author holds that oral account does not stand opposite to documents: the two benefit from each other and confirm each other. Documents have been applied in the whole process of Oral-history study. In the process of oral investigation, the interviewer should take the principle of objectivity and neutrality and try to avoid the unfavored influence caused by subjectivity.
