"Pianjiao"is an characteristic theory in Chinese Buddism which analysed the serious Buddism thought system in Ancient Asia,and then ccording to the theory from different time Buddha said or the difficult or easy in the Yindu Buddist doctrine to distinguish them.Panjiao is the theory that Chinese Buddism rethink,criticize and summarize Yindu Buddism.Chinese Buddism theory concentrated the progress of Yindu Buddism in about 1,000 years in the 80 years of the Buddha life,so the contradictory of Tune (History) and Doctrien (Logic) has been through all the Chinese Panjiao Theory.For sollving this congtradictory,all the Chinese Buddists emphasized the "Genji"of the people to compromised them.There were three Phrases In the progress of Chinese Buddism Panjiao theory:first,the Northern and Southern Dynasties which emphasied the Time in the Panjiao,it was the basis and starting point in the whole Chinese Panjiao Theory;second,from the period of Sui Dynasty to Qing Dynasty,it was the most imposstant phrase in Panjiao,and Panjiao was the inner element in Chinese Buddhim and one of the basises to built Chinese Buddism system.In this Phrase,some Chinese Buddism sects,as Sanjie Sect,Jingtu sectand Zen sect simplised the Panjiao Theory to build their theory sects.and the third phrases was the modern Chinese Buddism,in this phriod,Chinese Buddists used the Panjiao to expound the field that Buddism's position and role in the culture and civilisizion in the whole world The modern Panjiao Theory was the inherit and enhance of the tradition Panjiao theory.This thessis studies the early period of Chinese Buddism Panjiaotheory including the background of the produce of the Panjiao theory,the Whole sect's Panjao theory in the Northern and Southern Dynasties,Ji-zang,Zhi-yi and Wei-shi Sect's Panjiao Theory.
