With a perfect command of first-hand field-research materials in Chinese. Tibetan and foreign languages, this research program makes a comprehensive and systematic research into the relationships in politics, economics and culture between Tibetan, Monba and Lhoba minority nationalities. It enriches the relationship studies of national minorities in the southwestern pan of China. therefore it is a development and supplement to the research field of national relationship studies in the country.This paper consists of eight parts, that is, an introduction, a conclusion and six chapters.The introduction outlines the establishment, process, train of thought, and resources of materials about the research, etc.Chapter One makes a study of the development of the relationship between the Tibetan, Monba and Lhoba ethnic groups, reveals the long-standing close relationship between these minority nationalities. Chapter Two mainly studies the political relationships. It lays emphasis on the administration of the Tibetan local powers over the Monba and Lhoba regions and their struggles against foreign aggressions. It presents a great many facts to bear out that Menyu. Luoyu and lower Chayu have always been insaperable parts of China's territories. Chapter Three conducts a thorough study into the relationship in economics and the impacts on society among these nationalities. Chapter Four is a study of the religious cultural exchanges between these ethnic groups. Armed with tremendous field-research materials and literature data, it inquiresinto the intermingling and infiltration of religious culture and its deep-felt influence on these communities. Chapter Five carries out a study of cultural exchanges among Tibetan, Monba and Lhoba ethnic groups in terms of such social customs as food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and wedding and burial ceremonies. Chapter Six makes a comprehensive study of the exchanges in literature and art among the three minority nationalities, and the affects. The concluding remarks are a general conclusion and summarization of the major viewpoints of this research program.
