Koryo Allegorical Tales was formed in Choson in the late Koryo Dynasty, which was a style of narrative prose. Such tales was allegorical and biographies for objects with the writing skills especially as personification. It can be traced back to Chinese creative tradition with a long and splendid history----"writing for entertainment; writing for history". Biography of Mao Ying written by Han Yu in the Chinese Tang Dynasty was the symbol of the establishment of Allegorical Tales. Allegorical Tales was adopted the biographical mode of "one person-one generation". As for the style, it was specialized not only as hope and satire, but also as the combination of faithful writing and hidden writing, which hides the satire irony in narration. After Biography of Mao Ying, lots of parodies were created in the Chinese Tang and Song Dynasty, among which, there were works from famous writers such as Su Shi, Qin Guan and Zhang Lei. However, because these works followed the meanings of the old stories and lacked the artistic creation, they became just writing games by writers and refined scholars conveying their leisurely and carefree mood. Therefore, Allegorical Tales have not got any fame and gradually withdrew from Chinese literary world.In the Choson Koryo Dynasty, Allegorical Tales entered Choson. At that time, literature written in Chinese Language was in its golden age when all kinds of literature styles were fully adopted. Allegorical Tales then acceded to Korean fable tradition which was with the long history. With the big development of biographic literature, the fable features of Allegorical Tales adapted themselves to the special political and cultural background of Wu Chen coup d'etat and Swordman Dictatorship. Thus, Allegorical Tales were well used by Koryo writers, and the earliest works of Allegorical Tales were Yim Chun's Biography of Qu Chun, Biography of Kong Fang. After then, in Koryo literature world gradually appeared Yi Kyubo's Biography of Mr. Qu and Biography of Qing Jiang Messenger Xuan Fu, Yi Ynbo's Biography of Mr. Crab, Yi Gok's Biography of Mrs Bamboo, Yi Cheom's Biography of Mr. Chu, Hae Sim's Biography of Mr. Bamboo and Biography of Ice Passage, Sik youngam's Biography of Ding Shi, etc. The appearance of so many works formed a large scale of creation for Allegorical Tales. What's more, all these works conveyed brand-new meanings. Although writers let their stories happen in China, their real meanings had the close relationship with Choson and the Koryo Dynasty, and displayed the time trend and thought changes in the late Koryo Dynasty. These writers closely connected the stories to the features of the objects and wrote the biographies for them. Among the words, the profound cultural significance was well conveyed. Biography of Qu Chun and Biography of Mr. Chun were interpretation of wine culture and wine policy. Biography of Kong Fang was the thinking for the evolution of the currency economic policy. Biography of Mr. Chu indicated the function of paper in political culture. Biography of Mr. Bamboo, Biography of Mrs. Bamboo and Biography of Ding Shi were the unique understanding and illustration to the culture of bamboo cutting. Biography of Qing Jiang Messenger Xuan Fu can be traced back to divination culture. Most importantly, behind the personification of the objects, Koryo Allegorical Tales showed writers'deep thinking to society, politics, officialdom, and further indicated their clear praise and censure.Koryo Allegorical Tales have got great achievement on their thought. From the perspective of art, to the highest extent, these tales adopted personification to characterize figures and forward the plot, which made the personified figures live on the stage of time and history, as if the figures had the feelings like person. Koryo Allegorical Tales well combined symbolic art and satiric art; what's more, they used many kinds of romantic artistic skills to reflect the gloom reality. Biographic literature has to focus on characterizing the figures, which is the soul of the biography. Through different types of artistic methods, Koryo Allegorical Tales molded series of artistic figures of "person combines object" or "half person, half object". All these figures were the personification of objects, but they also came from real life, with unique personality, which symbolized a certain group of people in that era. Such symbols reflected some typical significance and conveyed writers'thought. All these features made Koryo Allegorical Tales big progress from narrative literature to novel.The appearance of Koryo Allegorical Tales was not only on the basis of influence of Chinese relevant literature forms such as legend literature, biographic literature, Allegorical Tales literature, etc., but also under the background of Choson fable tradition and developed biographic literature. In Choson ancient narrative literature, Koryo Allegorical Tales directly influenced Allegorical Tales creation in the Choson Dynasty and set a good example for the appearance and prosperity of Allegorical Tales fable novel. The creative spirit of Koryo Allegorical Tales not only had a great influence to aftertime Choson novel, but also played a role in inheriting the past and ushering in the future in the history of Choson ancient narrative literature.
