" The diplomatic Review " started publication in January 1902, and ended in January 1911 is the first modern newspaper to research international problem and diplomacy. With the summary method and attitude of objective description, The author is to reveal the historical characteristics of the times, the background of relationship between China and foreign countries, and to study its reports and commentaries on diplomacy.Researched as popular propagation medium on international relationship, besides historiography method the author carries out all the studies with journalism, diplomacy, sociology as well as relative cultural theory. This paper will develop its research from 4 aspects:First of all, it introduces the basic condition of "The diplomatic Review". From its history and basic content, explores discussions, analyses the basic characteristic, focus on the newspaper's ideology and author group.In addition, studying on protecting national rights, western Christianity management strategy, national diplomatic thoughts attending international pacts, alliance thoughts, diplomats training thoughts on "Yellow Peril theory " and other hot topics, the paper is to reveal the newspaper's nationalism purpose and characteristics.Then, on the essential features of diplomatic medium, the author discusses the role of foreign policy of Qing Dynasty and public education.The last, as the research object," The diplomatic Review" may give us a lesson for contemporary diplomacy.
