Depression has become a major disease threatening college students' psychological health. To mitigate and improve depression among college students as well as to reduce and control the emergence of depression among college students are not only an important medical subject, but also a serious social issue. However,so far the neuropathic pathological mechanism of depression remains not completely clear, especially in the transformation of the cognitive function of the core symptoms.Chapter 4 of this article,of which Chapter 2 to Chapter 4 is our main work, focusing on the following three issues:(1) The changing rules of negative activation in the emotional and cognitive processing of depressed patients among college students.Taking the identification of affective pictures from the International Affective Picture System(PLC) as the stimulus tasks, functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) is applied to compare the differences of negative activation between the group of depressed students and the control group of healthy students in the state of tasks.Data is analyzed using statistical parametric mapping(SPM).Compared to healthy subjects group, deactivation of depressive patients group was more significant on the whole brain, especially in the cingulate gyrus, but not in the posterior cingulate gyrus. These results suggested that the reallocation of brain resources in the depressive patients group during emotional cognitive tasks was affected by the cognitive disfunction, resulting in abnormal deactivation.(2) The functional conflict managing and cognitive processing of brain in the depression disease among college students. In combination with the classic neuropsychological mode (Go/No go),the single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT) is adopted to collect data, and statistical parametric mapping(SPM) is applied to do the data processing. An obvious change is discovered in the correspondent parts of the brain blood flow in the group of depressed patients and the control group of normal students.Specifically when operating Go/No go tasks, the brain blood flow in the areas of anterior cingulated cortex, the medial prefrontal, lateral inferior frontal gyrus and corpus callosum rise dramatically, which implies that deficiency may exist in the functions of these parts of the brain, and depressed patients among college students have the problem of behavioral inhibition in the cognitive aspect, which is connected with certain parts of the brain mechanism. (3) Based on the researches on the effectiveness of the integrative body-mind training (IBMT),the behaviors of cognitive processing among depressed college students and their brain blood changing rules under the intervention of the methods adopted in adjusting the whole body and mind is further investigated. After training for a period of time, the efficiency in operating and controlling attention network of the group of depressed college students increased and the positive emotion strengthened.Areas including the medial prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate, wedge leaf and Wedge before the leaves showed a noticeable increase in the metabolism of blood flow, while areas including caudate nucleus, lentiform nucleus, insula, thalamus, and the cingulate gyrus after and next temporal showed a decrease in the metabolism of blood flow. These results suggest that the training of adjusting the whole body and mind not only can improve the metabolism of the brain blood flow of depressed patients, but also have certain effects on treating and improving symptoms of depression.Additionally, it could enhance the emotion control ability and the conflict managing ability of the trainees. All in all,as an objective and quantitive accumulation of the neurology evidence of the depressed patients among college students, this research lays down a certain foundation for complementary diagnosis in clinical practice and provides a referential mode for treating depression.
