The theory system of the epidemic febrile diseases which be developed and matured in Ming and Qing dynasty played an important role in recognizing and treating the acute contagious diseases and infectious diseases in clinic. It is one of the great contributions of the Chinese Medicine for the human being. In the recent 50 years, the theory,diagnosis and treatment of the febrile diseases were applied into preventing and treating all kinds of the acute contagious diseases and infectious diseases. Its prominent effects have caused the concern home and abroad.The spectrum of disease was changed greatly with the development of the society. Several new epidemic contagious diseases emerged. And in the aspect of pathological factor,clinical manifestation, some old febrile diseases also became different as before for some climate,circumstance and clinical factors. All the changes caused to innovation of the treating mode and thoughts. The clinical treatment also changed on the basis of the traditional febrile diseases diagnosis and treatment. The process of fighting with the diseases and researching the former theory promotes the development of the febrile diseases theory. New treating methods and principles were produced continuously on the basis of former febrile diseases theory. The project summarized the clinical experience of resisting the acute epidemic contagious diseases by applying the theory of the febrile diseases in the recent 50 years. Further we discussed the inheritance and development of those clinical experiences to the febrile diseases. The research would make basis for the innovation of the epidemic febrile diseases theory.The main subject of the research is the modern literature research of such five acute infectious diseases as the epidemic encephalitis B,measles,epidemic hemorrhagic fever,influenza,SARS in the recent 50 years. The article choose and classified,summarized and arranged the literatures from the aspect of the disease epidemic characteristics,theoretical basis of the diagnosis and treatment,syndrome characteristics and treatment principle,prescription and drugs to summarize the disease feature,development rules,the experiences and rules of the application of the febrile diseases theory on diagnosing and treating the diseases in clinic. Meanwhile, according to the results of the literature research, the article discussed the inheritance and development of those experiences to the febrile diseases theory.On the aspect of the theory inheritance, got the idea that the application of the febrile diseases theory to the plague diagnosis and treatment in the recent 50 years is the treatment according to the syndrome differentiation under the direction of the Chinese medicine theory; It is the treatment according to the syndrome differentiation under the direction of the febrile diseases theory developed and matured in the Ming and Qing dynasty; analyzing the inheritance of the scholarly thoughts represented by WU Youke,YANG Lishan,YU Shiyu in treating the plague. On the aspect of the febrile diseases theory innovation, discussing the changes trends of the febrile diseases'treatment according to the syndrome differentiation since 50 years from the aspect of etiology,pathological changes,developing rules and treating principle. Explaining the application of the febrile diseases treating inhibitions in the plague, including the avoiding sweat,avoiding purgation,avoiding discharge of urine,avoiding warm tonifying etc. We analyzed the influence of the modern medicine on diagnosis and treatment of the contagious diseases to the development of the febrile diseases theory in Chinese medicine, and the enlightenment of the successful experience of the Chinese medicine on preventing and treating the epidemic disease by applying the febrile diseases theory.The following conclusion was deduced after the above research:1．The treatment according to the syndrome differentiation of the febrile diseases since 50 years received the idea on the etiology,pathology and disease developed rules of the school of epidemic febrile diseases in the Ming and Qing dynasty, adhering the syndrome differentiation mode such as syndrome differentiation according to the state of defensive, Qi, nutrient and blood and triple-jiao syndrome differentiation, learning from the scholar characteristics of the febrile diseases theory and the scholar experience on diagnosing and treating the disease.2．The changes of disease spectrum and virus viration cause the superiority of the febrile disease more and more. 3．The common pathogenic characteristics of these five diseases are rapid onset and development. It is difficult to tell defensive, Qi, nutrient and blood state apart. we concluded that many plagues don't develop as the order of defensive, Qi, nutrient and blood state absolutely. Therefore, grasping the developing law of the diseases according to the external manifestation after the attacking of the evil is the effective way to preventing and treating the plague.4．The syndrome differentiation mode of the plagues changed from treatment according to the syndrome differentiation to the combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation. It pays attention to grasping the syndrome differentiation characteristics on the basis of disease differentiation. It has new development in the theory,principle,prescription and drugs.
