Objective: 1. To investigate homozygous deletious of the mutiple tumor suppressor gene (P15) in esophogeal squamous cell carcinoma and adjacent normal tissues and to research the important role of P15 gene in the genesis and progression of esophageal carcinoma. 2. To investigate the relationship between P15 gene alteration and tumorigenesis related factors such as smoking or/and alcohol. 3. To investigate the correlation of P15 gene alteration with clinical pathologic parameters such as clinical stage, histoclassification, lymph node metastasis and tumorous invasion. The purpose of this study is to set up the theory that P15 gene alteration is associated with the developement and progression of esophageal cancer, and to help the clinical diagnosis and treatment of esophageal cancer.Methodes: The frozon samples of tumors and their proximal normal tissues were taken. High molecular weight genomic DNA isolation was performed by using standard phenol and chloroform extraction. PCR methods were used with primers which are specific for exon 1 and exon 2 of the P15 gene. PCR products were stained with ethidium bromide and run on 1.5% agrose gel for P15 gene homozygous...
