The assesment of dry-weight is one of the important problems for hemodialysis ( HD) adequency in clinical concern. Therefore, to develope a simple and reliable technique for measuring dry-weight is needed in detecting abnormalities of hydrational status in dialysis patients. In this paper. we proposed low - frequency resistivity of lower limb (P) as a specific parameter indicating dry-weight, established its measuring method and the normal values of P, and formulated the preseting ultrafiltrated volume for HD patients. This paper includes the following parts.I. Establishment of P measurement system and evaluation of its reliabilityAccording to the electrical specility of human tissue, the tetra-electrode resistivity measurement system was set up. The repeated P measurements indicated the high accuracy and reliability of thise system. The resistivity Ï was little influenced by limb configuration . P values could show the differences in dry-weight between man and woman in normal persons and HD patients.II . Ralationship of the P and extracellular fluid volume (EFV)...
