1 ObjectiveFrom the point of view of four diagnosis of Chinese medicine, to study the regularity of pathogeny, symptoms and characteristics, tongue characteristic of Fatty Liver by the epidemiological investigation of the Fatty Liver peoples. Then approaches of Chinese medicine may be provided for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of Fatty Liver.2 Methods2.1 The Chinese medical questionnaire (primary) of symptoms was designed by the basic theories of Chinese medicine as well as the theories of questionnaire, which resorted to psychological tests and questionnaires about quality of life.2.2 By the principles of clinical epidemiology, the cross-sectional study was adopted. The object was the checkup people. The risk factors including behavior factors, symptoms, tongue characteristics were observed and parameters of tongue (such as the value of R, G, B and l,a,b) were collected by tongue demonstration analysator. Then datum were analyzed and conclusions were obtained.3 Results3.1 The Morbidity of Fatty Liver of check up peoples in Beijing was 32.16%, the ratio of male to female was 3.86:1. In the Fatty Liver peoples, there is the 27.32% peoples ALT>40U/L.3.2 The results of Multiple linear regression showed that the factors which positively correlated with Fatty Liver including : age(OR: 1.027), gender(OR: 1.598), BMI(0R:1.616), blood sugar (OR:2.029), ALT (OR:2.808), TG(OR:3.608), TC(OR: 1.298).3.3 The value of AST and ALT in people with Fatty Liver was higher than that of people without Fatty Liver. Two independent sample non- parametric tests suggested that there was statistical difference (P < 0.01).3.4 The results of Multiple linear regression showed that the factors which correlated with the occurring of Fatty Liver including: gender(male), age, eating more fried food, eating more hot food, eating more sweet food, eating more cold food, WHR, BMI. However, the emotion wasn't show the relationship with the occurring of Fatty Liver.3.5 The results of Chi-square test showed that the significant symptoms of Fatty Liver people included fever, spontaneous perspiration, feverish sensation over the palm and sole, diarrhea due to cool food, bitter feeling in the mouth, distending pain in the hypochondria and so on; in those without Fatty Liver included intolerance to cold, cold hands and feet, lassitude, deep breathing ect.3.6 By factor analysis, 10 syndromes were obtained. According to the theory of Chinese Medicine, five categories were divided as: syndrome of depressed vital energy and deficiency of Qi, pyretic syndrome, cold syndrome, phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome, yin and yang in equilibrium syndrome.3.7 Compared with Fatty Liver and those without Fatty Liver by Chi-square test, the pyretic syndrome and the phlegmatic hygrosis syndrome were more prevalence in the former and depressed vital energy and syndrome of deficiency of QI, cold...
