At present, adult hypertension morbidity rate is over 18.8% and there are 1.6 hundred million hypertension patients in China. It rapidly increases by over six millions hypertension patients annually. This disease is seriously harmful to population's health and life. It causes left ventricle remodeling-myocardial fibrosis, which is one of main reasons to cardiac inadequacy. In addition, arteriosclerosis (AS) and the damage of cardio- cerebrovascular are accelerated by hypertension complicated with hyperlipemia. Accordingly, it is an important task to treat hypertension disease and to prevent its complications in medical responsibility. This article includes two parts:Part 1: Clinical studyObjective: To explore the best way of combination of TCM with Western medicine to control hypertension, and to intervene hypertension complicated with hyperlipemia. Especial, to prevent the development of AS, and furthermore to investigate the mechanism by which the drug works. Methods: 78 essential hypertension patients (Ⅰ,Ⅱgrade) were divided randomly into two groups: The treatment group (treated with Jiangya- Maijing granule and Nifedipine) and the control group (treated with Nifedipine only). Treatment group consisted of 43 cases-23 men and 20 women. The means of age was 62.4±12.97. Control group consisted of 35 cases-18 men and 17 women, means of age was 62.11±12.99. The process degree, hypertension class and TCM differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome show no statistical difference in both groups (P>0.05), so the both groups are comparable. Traditional Chinese drug-Jiangya-Maijing granule (JYMJ consists of Herba Taxilli, Semen Cassiae, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Fructus Crataegi etc )for oral administration (18g, b.i.d). Nifedipin 10mg, b.i.d,per os. The course of treatment was four weeks. After 4 weeks, we observed the change of blood pressure (BP), blood lipid, ET, SOD and CRGP in two groups.Results:①BP: after the treatment, the blood pressures of both groups decreased, especially the diastolic pressure in treatment group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.001).②Blood lipid:...
