Study Of Formula Syndrome Of Dachaihu Decoction Based On The Model Of "formula-disease-constitution"

Object:(1) To construct a practicable model of formula syndrome study.(2) Based on the model, defining the symptoms and signs of DACHAIHU Decoction (DCHD), guiding the suitable usage of the decoction.Methods:(1) Based on the point put forward by adviser and study results of TCM recent years, constructing the model of formula syndrome.(2) The study objection are the case reports and other literature of DCHD in journals and books from 1980-2008. After inputting the variables, such as symptoms, component of decoction, dosages of drugs, diseases, variables of constitution, etc, in the MS EXCEL software and importing the data to SPSS 13.0 statistical software, we make the factor analysis and cluster analysis using the methods supplied by SPSS and make the data mining using correlation rules(such as Apriori procedure) supplied by SPSS Clementine software(Version 8.1).Results:(1) There are close relationships between the constitution and diseases, and they all play important roles in the development of syndrome. Constitution affects the type of diseases significantly, and diseases affect the development and change of constitution too. They are the key factors of development of syndrome.(2) 557 cases reports of DCHD were gathered in the study. The characteristics of formula syndrome of DCHD were analyzed as follows:the diseases related to DCHD, the features of constitutions of formula syndrome of DCHD and the criteria of judgment, the main clinical manifestations of DCHD and the model of signs, rules and indications of drug's application, rules of choice of dosages of DCHD and the criteria of the formula syndrome.Conclusion:(1) the formula syndrome studying model of "Formula-Diseases-Constitution" can comprehensive reflects the features of differentiation of syndrome in TCM. The practicability of the model was corroborated by the literature study.(2) In general, there are three situations in clinical practice in using DCHD. Firstly, in those who accord with the criteria of constitution, and the diseases or manifestations accord with that of DCHD, the decoction can be used to alleviate symptoms and signs, prevent the progressing and relapsing of diseases and adjust the abnormal constitution. Secondly, in those whose constitution does not accord with the criteria but the disease and manifestations were typical. The decoction can be used to alleviate symptoms and signs and the usage should be stopped when the objection achieved. Finally, the usage of the decoction should be avoided when the constitution and manifestations does not accord with those of the decoction, even if the disease is typical.
