The Research Of Eco-city Design

Today, we live in an era of urbanization; the acceleration of the urbanization's rate is continuously promoting the change and adjustment of urban functions, social, environmental, ecological, transportion and other aspects. Urban design has become an important means to optimize the urban spatial form, to improve the quality of urban environment, life and urban landscape.As an important means of urban construction and planning administration, urban design plays an important role in the aspects of perfection of urban functions, improvement in traffic conditions, the development of social life, economic growth and the inheritance of history and culture. Accompanied with the rapid development of urban construction and economy, global warming, climate, desertification and other issues are also growing. Urban traffic congestion, Heat island effect and the deterioration of the environment have become the focus of attention. As the same time, the concept of Eco-city, Green city, Low Carbon city came into being. At this point, traditional urban design should be to examine the principles, objects and methods for further development in response to these changes. This requires the urban design not only be an important tool to lead the development of city space, would also like to rise to the "ecological" height which relates to human survival and development This article combines the urban design with the urban ecology, and introduces eco-cities design that based on urban ecology. First of all, the author start with the related theories of urban ecology, illustrates its relationship with the urban design, clears the research objectives, content and methodology of ecological urban design. Secondly, it takes the urban design of Wuhan as an example, proposed a comprehensive analysis of the traditional urban design and eco-cities design. Summarized the questions of traditional urban designs which contain eco-weak sense, economic value orientations extreme, position itself too conceptual and formal. Based on this, it should make a shift from traditional urban design to Eco-cities design. Third, it discusses the Eco-cities design study linked to statutory planning system, including overall stage, local stage and neighborhood stage. Also we proposed the drafting system of eco-city design. Finally, it analyzes the implementation strategies of eco-city design in the planning and management, mainly using the concept of Planning Administration "A picture" and digital map system, and raises implementation strategies in land management and construction management.In General, in the new era-oriented, urban design should be based on urban ecological problems, and the theory of urban ecology, to take the ecological urban design method for main line, finalized implementation ways in planning, management and project implementation.
