In the past two years, the economic crisis has swept across the whole world;however, there is an upward tendency in the dredge market. Especially in china, avariety of constructions has been in progress orderly and smoothly. Vigorousdevelopment has scored in domestic dredge industry.Dredger is the first important equipment in dredging engineering. Amongvarious dredgers, Trailing Suction Hoper Dredger (TSHD) is one of the main workingequipment depends on its high flexibility and efficiency. While under difficultcircumstances, dredging accuracy is seriously effected by the movement of ship anddraghead. Especially in recent years, as the increase of deepwater projects, such asdeepwater channel dredging, deepwater tunnel excavation, deepwater mining, thedemand for dredging accuracy is getting higher. As a result, dredging accuracycontrol of TSHD becomes the hardest problem in construction.Based on mathematical model for ship movement on six degrees of freedom,connected ship and draghead motion mathematical model, coupled motionmathematical model for ship and dagehead on nine degrees of freedom is built byutilizing swell compensator model. This model considers wind, wave, current, swellcompensator, and soil conditions. Then, real-ship experiment has been carried out on"Jinhangjun106"which is equipped with SCADA, and its result tests and verifiesthe model. After that, the influence factors of dredging accuracy go into consideration.Here, there is an intensive study on the effects of water depth, wind, wave, current,soil condition, ship speed and swell compensator on the overdepth and overwidthdredging. Finally, concrete measures are put forward about dredging accuracy control.With these methods, constructors will choose the most suitable ship speed and swellcompensator pressure in different construction environment (wind, wave, current, soil)aimed at improving dredging accuracy.
