Abstract/Summary:
This paper is one of the research findings of the topic Research on the Transformation and Regeneration of Urban Industrial Park based on Smart Contraction (No.51578276) supported by The National Natural Science Fund.Rapid urbanization in China lasted for more than ten years, new town and new area construction enlarged the framework of the city and region. Urban space has experienced an unprecedented expansion. When urban growth theory gradually moves towards the end, urban development approach is transiting from incremental development to stock development, urban renewal as representative. Obviously, it is impossible to continue using incremental development space governance to solve the stock development issues in such a period of urban renewal. The transformation of the pattern of urban development is bound to promote the transformation of the space governance, China contemporary urban renewal spatial governance needs to reform. On the one hand, urban renewal itself in the face of more and more diversified; on the other hand, China’s huge regional differences in the development of more let the city update problem is very complex. The research of spatial governance in the field of urban renewal in China is facing a great challenge.Study chooses urban renewal spatial governance mechanism and model research as the starting point, and urban regime theory as the main theoretical tools. By indicatively setting up China urban renewal governance mechanism and the master model, the research in-depth analyzes the governance relationship among the macro political economic and social environment, local government-market-society, and production factors of urban development. According to the master spatial governance model, study explains four types representative spatial governance model in different stages after China’s reform and opening policy, such as decisive spatial governance, dominant spatial governance, cooperative spatial governance, and supervisory spatial governance model. Study also uses four cases to respectively detailed demonstrates the proposed the research of master spatial governance model and four representative spatial governance models, including Yingkou Beizhuan area, Beijing Donghuashi area, Guangzhou Yangqi Village and Shantou Dabushang renewal projects.According to the research on Chinese urban renewal of space governance mechanism and model, the study further explores the good governance under the background of the characteristics of Chinese institution and culture. Based on the two aspects of good governance, namely spatial governance of top-level design with the local system arrangement, the study proposed good governance approach under the Chinese characteristic system and cultural background, based on regional differences, market development and the social culture network construction with Chinese characteristics. That partnership and the community self-orgnization would become the main direction of China urban renewal spatial governance in the nearly future. Spatial governance should focus on based on the social market, local government, government and enterprise partners and social enterprise partnership building, and NGO and community self-organization.Finally, the article pointed out that China’s urban renewal and spatial governance at this stage need to pay special attention to the key points and the trend of the next stage of development. China needs to update the governance system to form the modern spatial govenance to deal with the increasing complexity of the urban renewal.The chapters of this thesis are as following:Chapter 1:Introduction. This chapter is the framework of the whole thesis. It explains and points out the necessity of the study, the research background, significance, basis, main idea, methods, content and framework of the study. It also explains the research ideas, research methods and research content.Chapter 2:Literature review. The chapter summarizes the domestic and international research.This chapter systematically explaines the context and the theory basis of spatial governance and urban renewal research progress, and summaries the domestic and international urban renewal spatial governance respectively, which proves a good base for the following theoretical framework and research methodology to design.Chapter 3:Governance mechanism and the master model of urban renewal space in China. This chapter describes China’s urban renewal of spatial governance theory hypothesis, puts forward spatial governance mechanism and in accordance with the conditions of master spatial governance model, and the typical four space governance models. At the same time, on the basis of building a theoretical-Empirical Study of the logical relationship.Chapter 4:Decisive Spatial Governance. Through the analysis of the environment for economic and social development, the charpter puts forward the environment feature of decisive spatial governance. And from the role of government in the governance, it analyzes the relationship between governance and governance. In this governance model, the positive and negative effects of urban renewal are put forward. The urban renewal of Yingkou Beizhuan is used as an example to further verify the decisive spatial governance.Chapter 5:Dominant Spatial Governance. The chapter studies the development environment of the initial establishment of market economy. It also focuses on the study of impact of spatial governance caused by changes in the urban social and economic factors. Analysis of the role of market forces to intervene in the city’s three Yuan Regime change. Beijing Donghuashi renewal is used as the example.Chapter 6:Cooperative Spatial Governance. By in-depth analysis of the rapid growth phase, with the formation of the elements of the market, market forces and social forces in the space governance role continued to increase. In the context of the full cooperation between the government and the developer, the chapter studies the effect of urban renewal space governance. Guangzhou Yangji Village is used as a case to analyze and validation of the space governance model.Chapter 7:Supervisory Spatial Governance. Based on the urban regime and double movement theories, the type of supervisory spatial governance is proposed. Through the transformation of Shantou Chaonan Dabushang case, the chapte prospective analyzes the governance in the context of public power rising. And it also sums up the characteristics and structure of the regulatory urban renewal space governance.Chapter 8:Good governance in China urban renewal. The chapter discusses the good governance mode of Chinese urban renewal, from the macro background of the new normal, new urbanization of based on the assumption of spatial governance of urban renewal, to further explore the good governance model.Explore the possible direction of urban renewal and management, as well as the idea of good governance based on the characteristics of China’s institutional culture.Chapter 9:Conclusion and discussion, which is the summary and discussion of the content of the full text.On the basis of summarizing the innovation points of this paper, the content of further research and discussion is put forward.
