The methods of tumor immunotherapy include nonspecific immunotherapy and specific immunotherapy. In the past, the research of tumor immunity put excess emphasis on specific antigen and specific immune system. But in the recent years, the importance of nonspecific immune system is beginning to be recognized. At present, people are becoming to realize that compared with specific immune system which is unable to produce good immune responses to self-tissues, the nonspecific immune system has relatively stronger ability to eliminate the single aberrant self-cells, which means it has the potential to eliminate the earlier period genetic alteration possibly evolving into tumor cell in the single cell level. Usually in nonspecific immune system, the deletion of structure normally expressing on cell surface may cause cell to be effectively eliminated. Therefore, people ought to pay close attention to the important functions of nonspecific immune system on tumor immunity.Corynebacterium parvum (CP) product (CPP) is a kind of nonspecific immunopotentiators, which is a killed vaccine manufactured from a kind of anaerobic gram positive bacillus that is isolated from the healthy people's bone marrow and destroyed with formaldehyde.
