Sub-total and total ear defects is a relatively common malformation, which inevitably affects physical and mental health of the patients and gives the family and society a heavy burden. In the past , surgeons devoted themselves to research of ear reconstruction and its framework . In this paper, we reviewed the relating literatures. This article explains the method of ear reconstruction with autogenous rib graft and the properties of the grafted rib as possible. On the comprehensive review we conducted experiments on management after rib infection and ensuing results in clinical ear reconstruction and in the model of rabbit.The method of auricular reconstruction with autogenous rib is widely accepted and popular . Relating grafted rib infection is not uncommon in ear reconstruction and deserves little consideration in academic research . In order to strengthen the prevention and control of grafted rib infection , this article surveyed grafted rib infection cases after ear reconstruction and analysed the pathogen organism in our ward from January 2003 to December 2004 .It is disputable...
